Precautions

Location

Using the unit in the following locations can re-

sult in a malfunction.

• In direct sunlight

•

Locations of extreme temperature or humidity

• Excessively dusty or dirty locations

• Locations of excessive vibration

• Close to magnetic fields

Power supply

Please connect the designated AC adapter to an

AC outlet of the correct voltage. Do not connect

it to an AC outlet of voltage other than that for

which your unit is intended.

Interference with other electrical devices

Radios and televisions placed nearby may expe-

rience reception interference. Operate this unit

at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.

Handling

To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force

to the switches or controls.

Care

If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean,

dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners such as ben-

zene or thinner, or cleaning compounds or flam-

mable polishes.

reference.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment

Never set any container with liquid in it near this

equipment. If liquid gets into the equipment, it

could cause a breakdown, fire, or electrical shock.

Be careful not to let metal objects get into the

equipment. If something does slip into the equip-

ment, unplug the AC adapter from the wall out-

let. Then contact your nearest Korg dealer or the

store where the equipment was purchased.

THE FCC REGULATION WARNING (for U.S.A.)

This equipment has been tested and found to comply

with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant

to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed

to provide reasonable protection against harmful in-

terference in a residential installation. This equipment

generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency en-

ergy and, if not installed and used in accordance with

the instructions, may cause harmful interference to

radio communications. However, there is no guaran-

tee that interference will not occur in a particular in-

stallation. If this equipment does cause harmful in-

terference to radio or television reception, which can

be determined by turning the equipment off and on,

the user is encouraged to try to correct the interfer-

ence by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• Increase the separation between the equipment and

receiver.

• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit

different from that to which the receiver is con-

nected.

Unauthorized changes or modification to this system

can void the user’s authority to operate this equip-

ment.

CE mark for European Harmonized Standards

CE mark which is attached to our company’s prod-

ucts of AC mains operated apparatus until Decem-

ber 31, 1996 means it conforms to EMC Directive (89/

336/EEC) and CE mark Directive (93/68/EEC).

And, CE mark which is attached after January 1, 1997

means it conforms to EMC Directive (89/336/EEC),

CE mark Directive (93/68/EEC) and Low Voltage

Directive (73/23/EEC).

Also, CE mark which is attached to our company’s

products of Battery operated apparatus means it con-

forms to EMC Directive (89/336/EEC) and CE mark

Directive (93/68/EEC).

marks of their respective owners.

Handling of the internal hard disk

Do not apply physical shock to this device. In

particular, you must never move this device or

apply physical shock while the power is turned

on. This can cause part or all of the data on disk

to be lost, or may damage the hard disk or inte-

rior components.

When this device is moved to a location where

the temperature is radically different, water

droplets may condense on the hard disk. If the

device is used in this condition, it may malfunc-

tion, so please allow several hours to pass be-

fore operating the device.

Do not turn the power on and off repeatedly. This

may damage the MR-1000.

This device begins to access the hard disk im-

mediately after the power is turned on.

Never turn off the power while the HDD access

indicator is lit or blinking. Doing so can cause

all or part of the data on hard disk to be lost, or

may cause malfunctions such as hard disk dam-

age.

If the hard disk has been damaged due to incor-

rect operation, power failure, or accidental in-

terruption of the power supply, a fee may be

charged for replacement even if this device is still

within its warranty period.

Data handling

Incorrect operation or malfunction may cause the

contents of memory to be lost, so we recommend

that you save important data on a CD or other

media. Please be aware that Korg will accept no

responsibility for any damages which may re-

sult from loss of data.

Also, when digitally recording copyrighted au-

dio material from a DAT or CD etc., you must

obtain permission for use. Please be aware that

Korg will accept no responsibility for any copy-

right violations which may occur through your

use of this product.

This professional device is intended only for

use with works for which you yourself own

the copyright, for which you have received

permission from the copyright holder to pub-

licly perform, record, broadcast, sell, and du-

plicate, or in connection with activities which

constitute "fair use" under copyright law. If you

are not the copyright holder, have not received

permission from the copyright holder, or have

not engaged in fair use of the works, you may

be violating copyright law, and may be liable

for damages and penalties. If you are unsure
