SAFETY SECTION
Warning
Ingestion Warning: This product contains a button cell or coin battery.
DEATH or serious injury can occur if ingested.
A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns in as little as 2 hours.
KEEP new and used batteries OUT OF REACH of CHILDREN
Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to be swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body.
Risk of injury or death. Always plug three-prong plug into a properly grounded outlet. Never attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Do not use timer to control devices that could have dangerous consequences due to inaccurate timing, such as sun lamps, sauna, heaters, crock pots, etc.
Unplug timer before replacing batteries.
Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep away from children. Do NOT dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate.
Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death.
Replace only with CR2032 (3 V) Batteries.
Call a local poison control center for treatment information.
Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above (manufacturer’s specified temperature rating) or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion resulting in chemical burns.
Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -).
Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries.
Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of batteries from equipment not used for an extended period of time according to local regulations.
Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep them away from children.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The RC939 Radio Transmitter is used to control Intermatic model RC613 series radio receivers.
In order for the transmitter to function, it must rst be linked to an RC613 series receiver. The
transmitter can then operate the receiver to provide remote ON/OFF control of devices connected
to the receiver.
INITIAL SETUP
Verifying Receiver Operation
Before linking the transmitter to your receiver, perform this procedure to verify that the RC613
receiver is operating properly.
1. Press the red button on the receiver multiple times. The receiver will click and the
connected device will turn ON and OFF to indicate the receiver is working and is
wired properly.
2. If the receiver does not click when pressing the red ON/OFF button, make
sure there is 120 VAC power to the receiver module.
3. If the receiver module clicks but the connected device doesn’t operate,
make sure the connected device is functional and is correctly wired to the
receiver module.
Linking an RC939 Transmitter Button with the RC613 Receiver
NOTE: The transmitter must be within 6 feet of the receiver during setup.
1. On the remote (RC939), use a paper clip to press and release the button on
the lower right-hand side. The red LED on the remote should be solid red now.
2. On the receiver (RC613), press and hold the blue CODE SET button for 3
seconds. See Figure 3.
3. Now, with one-second intervals, tap the button that you want to program
on the remote repeatedly until you hear the relay click inside the receiver.
(Press at 7 times) least
4. Now press a different button on the remote to save your setting.
(Red LED should go out)
5. Test the button you just programmed. If it is not working, make sure the red
LED on the remote is off and go back to step 1.
Note: To clear any existing codes, press and hold the blue CODE SET button on
the receiver for 20 seconds, then release. (This will eliminate all stored codes)

Linking Multiple Transmitters with a Receiver
Up to three different transmitters can control a receiver. Follow steps 1 through 5 of Linking an RC939 Transmitter
Button with the RC613 Receiver.
OPERATION
How to Use the Radio Transmitter
Once you setup the required links between the transmitter(s) and receiver(s), you are ready to use the transmitter. Press
the congured button on the transmitter to turn the connected device ON/OFF.
NOTE: The usable operation range for the transmitter is 100 feet.
The transmitter linking that was congured at Initial Setup can be revised as needed. Follow the applicable instructions
below to revise the transmitter/receiver linking.
Excluding a Transmitter Button Link from a Receiver
Follow this procedure to exclude a transmitter button from a receiver:
1. With a stylus or paper clip, press the button on the side of the transmitter until the red LED illuminates.
See Figure 2 for location of the button and LED.NOTE:
2. Momentarily press the congured ON/OFF button on the transmitter that you want to exclude from the receiver.
3. Momentarily press one of the other buttons on the transmitter. The red LED on the transmitter turns OFF.
4. Momentarily press the button you wanted to exclude to verify it no longer controls the receiver. The button is now
excluded.
Deleting All Links from a Receiver
To delete all links from a receiver, press and hold the Code-Set button for 20
seconds. All the codes are deleted from the receiver and all links between the
transmitter(s) and the receiver are deleted.
Changing the Transmitter Battery
Follow this procedure to remove or change the transmitter battery.
1. Insert a wide at screwdriver into the slot on the side of the transmitter and
remove the cover.
2. Replace the CR2032 lithium coin type battery inside the transmitter.
NOTE: Make sure the new battery’s + terminal is facing away from the circuit
board on the transmitter.
3. Snap the cover onto the transmitter.
