Intended use
The Truma Cooler has been developed to cool and freeze food
produce.
The appliance can either be operated via an A.C. Power
supply (100-240V), D.C. power supply (12/24V) or a supply
battery (12/24 V).
The appliance is intended for private use and camping
(caravans and motor homes) only.

Safety instructions
– Use the appliance only if it is in a technically perfect
condition. Prior to use, check whether the housing, the
electrical connections, connectors and cables are damaged.
– Always ensure that the cable connections do not
become trapped under the appliance, as they may be
damaged.
– No multiple sockets or power supply units may be
positioned in the vicinity of the appliance.
– This appliance may be used by children 8 years and over,
and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or with insufficient experience and knowledge,
if they have been supervised or instructed on the safe use of
the appliance and understand the associated risks.
– Children must not play with the appliance.
– Children and animals must not climb Risk of suffocation!

– Do not touch electrical connections with wet hands.
– The appliance must only be maintained and repaired by an
expert.
– Maintenance and repair must not be performed by
children.
– Electrical appliances must not be placed in the portable
fridge/freezer.
– The appliance should only be operated at ambient
temperatures from +10Β°C to +43Β°C. The appliance must not
be operated at ambient temperatures above +43Β°C.
– Temperatures can quickly rise to high levels in a vehicle.
At high ambient temperatures the appliance automatically
switches off.
– The appliance must not be exposed to rain or other forms of
precipitation.
– In particular, the power supplies must be protected against
moisture and humidity.
– If the appliance is switched off or disconnected from the
power source while there are perishable foods in it, the food
must be used only with extreme caution. With safety in
mind, perishable foods should be disposed of.
– Dangerous objects must not be stored in the portable
fridge/freezer (e.g. aerosol cans, explosive and/or flammable
liquids/fuels).

– The appliance must be disconnected from the power source
prior to cleaning.
– Do not fill the appliance for longer periods with water or
other liquids, as liquid serves as a breeding ground for
bacteria. What is more, ice may melt in the appliance if
the temperature is not sufficiently low. As such, always
store perishable foods in suitable containers in the portable
fridge/freezer.
– Never remove ice from the appliance with a knife or other
sharp objects. Otherwise the appliance may be seriously
damaged.
– Changes or modifications to this appliance not expressly
approved by the body responsible for compliance could
void the user’s authority to operate the appliance.
– The appliance must not be operated in very dusty locations
(e.g. on the beach), as dust and grains of sand could be
sucked in and damage the appliance.
– The appliance must be secured by suitable means when
transported in a vehicle. National regulations must be
followed.
– This appliance corresponds to Section 15 of the FCC rules
and RSS standards of the Canadian Ministry of Industry
for licence-exempt radio apparatus. The following two
conditions must be fulfilled for operation:
– (1) The appliance must not cause any harmful
interference.
– (2) The appliance must be resistant to recorded
interference, including interference that could cause
undesired operating states.
– Only one 12/24V connection should be used Risk of fire!
on the appliance at any one time. The connection not in use
must be sealed off with the supplied blanking plug.
– Risk of electrocution and fire! If the power cord on
this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or their customer services or by a similarly
qualified person, to prevent hazards.

– The refrigeration circuit is a hermetically sealed device and
must not be opened.
Important product information
– The appliance requires sufficient ventilation, particularly at
air vents. The minimum clearance around all air vents is
100mm.
– The lower the ambient temperature, the lower the power
consumption. In order to increase cooling efficiency,
position the appliance in a cool location which is sheltered
from the sun.
– Ice must not accumulate on the inside walls, otherwise this
will decrease the cooling power. To defrost the appliance,
switch it off, let the ice melt, remove the drain plug and then
wipe off the remaining water.
– We recommend operating the appliance only on
horizontalsurfaces, but operation at inclines up to 30º is
possible.
– At an incline above 15Β°, louder operating noises may occur,
however this does not affect the cooling power of the
appliance.
– The appliance may be damaged by low voltage, if the DC
supply cables are dimensioned too low. The following table
shoes the recommended cable cross section for cable
connection from the battery to the appliance:

– When using the appliance, ensure that the connected
DCpower source includes a fuse or automatic cutout.
Therecommended sizes:
– 12V DC: 10A
– 24V DC: 5A
– Prior to use, ensure that the voltage is in the correct range
for the cable and connector socket.
– The appliance is suitable for camping.
– The appliance can be operated with direct and alternating
current.
– If the vehicle is not being used for a long time, the
appliance should be disconnected from the D.C. power
supply to conserve the battery.
– The appliance contains fluorinated greenhouse gases.
Observe the following instructions to
avoid contaminating food produce:
– Opening the cover for a long period of time may lead to
a considerable increase in temperature in sections of the
appliance.
– Regularly clean the surfaces, which may come into contact
with food produce, and the drain in the base of the appliance.
– Clean the water containers if they have not been used for
48 hours. Flush the water system connected to a water pipe
if no water has been drawn off for 5 days.
– Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the
portable fridge/freezer so that they cannot come into
contact with other food produce or drip onto them.
– If the portable fridge/freezer is empty for a longer period of
time, switch off the appliance, defrost it, clean it and let it
dry. When letting it dry, leave the cover open so that mould
does not form in the appliance.
