7 Unplug the appliance when not in use, before moving and before cleaning.
8 If you want to stop the coļ¬€ee maker while itā€™s brewing, move the switch to .0
9 Donā€™t put the carafe in a microwave oven.
10 Donā€™t try to adjust the metal band round the carafe, youā€™ll break the glass.
11 Donā€™t use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.
12 Donā€™t use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.
13 This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or remote control system.
14 Donā€™t use the appliance if itā€™s damaged or malfunctions.

before using for the ļ¬rst time
1 Fill the reservoir to the mark, and run the appliance without coļ¬€ee.:;
2 Let it cool, discard the water, then use it normally.
ļ¬lling
3 Remove the carafe from the hotplate.
4 Use the grip to open the lid, and expose the reservoir.
5 Use the carafe to ļ¬ll the reservoir, to avoid overļ¬lling.
6 Press the lever at the rear of the carafe lid, above the handle, to open the carafe lid.
7 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but not above the mark.:;
8 Open up a #4 paper ļ¬lter, and put it into the ļ¬lter holder.

9 Put ļ¬lter-ground coļ¬€ee into the ļ¬lter. The amount will vary with the type of coļ¬€ee and
individual taste, but we suggest two rounded teaspoons per cup of water.
10 Close the lid
11 Replace the carafe on the hotplate.

12 Put the plug into the power socket.
13 Move the switch to 1. The light will come on.
14 Shortly afterwards, coļ¬€ee will start to drip into the carafe.
15 When itā€™s done, the hotplate will keep the carafe warm.
16 If left for much more than an hour, chemical changes in the coļ¬€ee liquor start to aļ¬€ect the
ļ¬‚avour. Itā€™s best to pour it away and make a fresh pot.

17 You can remove the carafe at any time. To prevent the ļ¬lter holder overļ¬‚owing, replace the
carafe on the hotplate within about 20 seconds.

19 Unplug, and let the appliance and carafe cool down fully before cleaning, or for about 10
minutes before reļ¬lling.

22 Use the handles on the sides of the ļ¬lter holder to lift it out.
23 Tip the contents of the ļ¬lter holder into the bin.
24 You may clean the carafe and ļ¬lter holder in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly afterwards,
to remove all traces of soap.
25 Clean the outside surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth.
26 Align the tab at the back of the ļ¬lter holder with the slot at the back of the coļ¬€ee maker, and
lower the ļ¬lter holder back into the coļ¬€ee maker.
27 Close the lid.
28 Donā€™t put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.

products. Follow the instructions on the package of descaler.
