carefully, and then use this product correctly.

Before replacing the lter, be sure to turn the power off and disconnect the
power plug from the wall outlet.
zFailure to do so may result in electric shock.

Before replacing the air filter unit
Attention
zTurn the main power off before replacing the air lter unit.
zMake sure that the projector is stable when attaching the air lter unit, and work in an environment that is safe,
even in the event of the air lter unit dropping.

1) Turn off the projector and disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet.
zWhen the power is to be turned off, be absolutely sure to follow the procedure described in
“Switching off the projector” in the operating instructions of the projector.
2) Remove the air lter cover. (Fig. 1)
zTurn the air lter cover xing screw (x 1) counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver until it
turns freely, and remove the air lter cover by placing a nger in the depressed section and
pull it out slowly in the direction of the arrow.
zWhen pulling out the air lter cover, make sure to place a hand on the air lter cover. Pulling it
out too rapidly may cause the air lter cover to fall.
3) Pull out the air lter unit. (Fig. 2)
zSlightly push the grip of the air lter unit inward in the direction of the arrow, remove from the
tabs on the projector body, and pull out the air lter unit.
zAfter pulling out the air lter unit, remove any foreign object and dust from the air lter unit
compartment and the projector’s air intake port.

Attention
zTake care not to touch the air intake fan in the air lter unit compartment when removing dirt or dust.
4) Insert a new air lter unit (Replacement Filter Unit) in the projector.
zAttach the air lter unit in the reverse procedure of Step 3).
zPush in the air lter unit all the way in until it clicks.
5) Install the air lter cover on the projector and tighten the air lter cover xing
screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
zClose the air lter cover in the reverse procedure of Step 2), and press it in all the way until it
clicks.
zSecurely tighten the air lter cover xing screw (x 1) using a Phillips screwdriver.
Attention
zBe sure to install the air lter unit before turning on the projector. Using the projector without the air lter unit
will cause dirt and dust to accumulate inside the projector and could result in malfunction.
zIf you operate the projector without the air lter unit attached, the <FILTER> indicator blinks red, and the
message appears on the projection screen for about 30 seconds.
zDo not disassemble the air lter unit.
zDispose of the packaging materials properly after unpacking the product.
zWhen discarding this product, please contact your local authorities or dealer and ask for the correct method of
disposal.
Note
zThe frequency with which the air lter unit needs to be changed depends signicantly on the environment
where the unit is used.
zFor procedures on maintaining the air lter unit, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the projector.
