USER'S MANUAL
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the EM899 Indoor and Outdoor
Jumbo Thermometer with memory. This Thermometer has been
designed specifically with performance and ease-of-use in mind. It
can measure the indoor temperature and also the outdoor temperature
by means of a 3-meter outdoor sensor-probe. It can also show the
maximum and minimum temperature recorded.
Other features include large LCD display, user-selectable ºC or ºF
temperature display unit and wall-mount or table-stand option.

BATTERY INSTALLATION
This unit uses one (1) piece of UM-4 or "AAA" 1.5V battery.
Follow these steps to install/ replace the battery:
1. Slide down the battery door in the direction of the arrow on the
battery door.
2. Insert the battery strictly according to the polarities shown therein.
3. Replace the battery door.
GENERAL OPERATION
This Thermometer will measure and display indoor and outdoor
current temperature or it can be set to display the maximum or
minimum temperature recorded.
Note: When the indoor or outdoor temperature is outside the
measuring range, "LLL" appears on the display (below 0 C/+32° °F
for indoor and below -50 C/-58 F for outdoor) or " " appears° ° HHH
on the display (above +50 C/+122 F for indoor and above +70 C/° ° °
+158°F for outdoor).
This thermometer will continue to record the indoor/ outdoor
maximum, indoor/outdoor minimum temperature changes, whether
displaying current, maximum or minimum temperature readings.
MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE MEMORIES
Follow these steps to display the minimum or maximum temperatures:
1. Press the [ ] button once, the indoor / outdoor minimumMIN
temperatures recorded and the ' indicator appear on theMIN'
display.
Press the [ ] button once again, the current temperatureMIN
appear on the display.
2. Press the [ MAX ] button once, the indoor / outdoor maximum
temperatures recorded and the ' ' indicator appear on theMAX
display.
Press the [ ] button once again, the current temperatureMAX
appear on the display.
RETTING THE MAXIMUM OR MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE MEMORIES
1. Press the [ ] button once, to clear the minimum orRESET
maximum temperature recorded, then full display segments will
show for about 3 seconds.
2. The current temperature returns to display and such readings will
update as the minimum and maximum temperature.
