MODEL EI500 Series
1. Remove wall plate and disconnect
existing light switch.
2. Make sure both “hot” and
“neutral” wires are present in the
junction box. If both wires are not
present, additional wiring will be
necessary before installation can be
completed.
3. Connect red timer wire to wire from
fixture using wire connector.
4. Connect black timer
wire to the “hot” (usually
black or red) wire in
junction box using wire
connector.
5. Cut white
wire in

6. Connect white timer wire to white wires in junction box
using wire connector.
7. If the wall switch you are replacing had separate grounding
conductors connected to the GREEN screw on the switch,
make sure to connect these to the green wire from the timer
with a wire connector.
8. Check that all wire connections are secure.
9. Place all wires inside junction box.
10. Fit timer into junction box and install using two (2) mounting
screws (furnished).
11. Reconnect the electrical power.
Setting the Clock
1. Press and the (Clock) button.HOLD CLK
2. Press the button until the display shows the current day.DAY
3. Press the HOUR button until the display shows the current
hour.
4. Press the MIN (Minute) button until the display shows the
current minute.
Setting Programs
1. Press the (Program) button once. ThePROG
display will look as shown at the right.
You will now set up the time in which you
want your device turned ON.
The number 1 in the lower left hand corner
indicates that you are now programming
EVENT 1.
2. Press the button repeatedly until the display shows theDAY
day(s) when you want the timer to turn on. The options are:
- All days of the week (MO TU WE TH FR SA SU)
- Individual days of the week (MO etc.)
- Weekdays only (MO TU WE TH FR)
- Weekends only (SA SU)
3. Press the and (Minute) buttonsHOUR MIN
to set the time when you want the timer to
turn on.
4. Press the (Program) button again. ThePROG
display reads as shown at the right.
Disconnect power at the circuit breaker(s) or disconnect
switch(es) before installing or servicing.
Installation and/or wiring must be in accordance with national and
local electrical code requirements.
Use COPPER conductors ONLY.
WARNING Risk of Fire or Electric Shock
No user-serviceable parts.
The internal battery requires up to 30 minutes to charge. If the
battery is not charged and power is lost, schedule information
may have to be re-configured.

Reviewing Events Programmed
1. In the current time display, press the (Program) button PROG
repeatedly to check your settings.
2. When nished, press the CLK (Clock) button to return the
display to the time of day.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 to set the OFF time for Event 1.
You can repeat the ON and OFF programming procedures
outlined above for up to 7 events, as needed.
Do not set ON / OFF events within 30 minutes or less from
one another if you are going to use the timer in the Random
Mode. The Random Mode interval is ± 30 minutes from the
programmed times, and programs set too close together
may overlap one another.
6. When programming is complete, press the (Clock) CLK
button to display the current time.
Clearing (Deleting) an Event
1. Press the PROG (Program) button as many times as necessary
to locate the setting you want to clear.
2. Press and hold the button.MODE
3. Press the button to clear the setting.PROG
4. When nished, press the CLK (Clock) button to return the
display to the time of day.
Operating the Time Switch
Press the button repeatedly to set the timer to Automatic, MODE
Random or Manual mode.
NOTE: For the time switch to run programmed events, it
must be set to “AUTO” or “RDM” (Random) mode.
NOTE: After setting events, the timer may turn on the load if
you press the button. MODE
AUTO runs all events automatically, according to the
schedule you have set. The word “AUTO” appears in the
display.
RDM (Random) — runs all events in a RANDOM mode. This
is a security feature in which ON and OFF times randomly
differ ± 30 minutes from the programmed times, creating a
more “lived-in” look. The word RDM” appears in the display.
MANUAL turns ON and OFF only when the user presses
the ON or OFF button. The display is blank, showing neither
RDM or AUTO.
Overriding Timer Settings
The ON or OFF buttons override the current programmed events.
To override the current program (either ON or OFF), press the
ON OFF or button.
NOTE: If the timer is not in “Manual” mode, it will obey the
next programmed event. This allows the user to manually
turn a light on and allow the program to shut the light back
off at a preset time.
Resetting the Timer
In case of an operational failure of the timer, press the RESET
button to clear all settings and restart.

Instructions d’installation et mode d’emploi

1. Déposer la plaque murale et
débrancher l’interrupteur d’éclairage
existant.
2. Vérifier qu’il y a à la fois un fil de
phase et un fil de neutre dans la boîte
de dérivation. S’il n’y a pas ces deux
fils, il peut être nécessaire de tirer
des câbles supplémentaires avant de
pouvoir effectuer l’installation.
3. Raccorder le l de minuterie rouge au
provenant du luminaire à l’aide
d’une marette.
4. Raccorder le fil noir de la
minuterie au fil de phase
(généralement noir ou rouge)
trouvé dans la
boîte de dérivation
à l’aide d’une
marette.
5. Couper le fil blanc
dans la boîte de dérivation (ou
ouvrir l’épissure) et nuder 13 mm
d’isolant environ sur les deux fils.

6. Raccorder le fil blanc de la minuterie aux fils blancs trouvés
dans la boîte de dérivation à l’aide d’une marette.
7. Si l’interrupteur mural remplacé comportait des conducteurs
de terre séparés raccordés à sa vis VERTE, veiller à bien
raccorder ces conducteurs au l vert de la minuterie à l’aide
d’une marette.
8. Vérifier que tous les fils sont solidement raccordés.
9. Placer tous les fils à l’intérieur de la boîte de dérivation.
10. Placer la minuterie dans la boîte de dérivation et l’attacher
à l’aide de deux (2) vis de fixation fournies.
11. Rétablir l’alimentation électrique.
Régler l’horloge
1. TENIR la touche (HORLOGE) enfoncée.CLK
2. Appuyer sur la touche (JOUR) jusqu’à afficher le jour DAY
courant.
3. Appuyer sur la touche HOUR (HEURE) jusqu’à afficher l’heure
courante.
4. MINUTESAppuyer sur la touche MIN ( ) jusqu’à afficher les
minutes courantes.
Configurer les programmes
1. Appuyer une fois sur la touche PROG
(PROGRAMME). Lafchage est semblable à
l’illustration ci-contre.
Régler à présent l’heure à laquelle l’appareil
doit être mis en MARCHE (ON).
Le nombre 1 en bas à gauche indique qu’il
s’agit de la programmation de l’ÉVÈNEMENT 1.
2. Appuyer de façon répétée sur la touche (JOUR) jusqu’à DAY
afficher les jours la minuterie doit s’activer. Les choix
sont les suivants:
- Tous les jours de la semaine (MO TU WE TH FR SA SU) (lun
mar mer jeu ven sam dim)
- Jours individuels de la semaine (MO etc.)
- Jours de semaine seulement (MO TU WE TH FR) (lun mar
mer jeu ven)
- Fins de semaine seulement (SA SU) (sam dim)
3. Appuyer sur les touches (HEURE) et HOUR MIN
(MINUTES) pour régler laquelle la minuterie
doit s’activer.
4. Appuyer de nouveau sur la touche PROG
(PROGRAMME). L’affichage est semblable à
l’illustration ci-contre.

neurs avant de procéder à l’installation ou à l’entretien.
Linstallation et/ou le câblage doivent être conformes aux exigences du
code de l’électricité en vigueur.
