STEP 1 - DETERMINE THE SHAPE OF YOUR OIL TANK
For tank types shown above, select the tank type that is closest in shape to your tank and complete the chart
above.
Note: For unusual tank shapes or to improve the accuracy of the Apollo Smart Monitor you may require a lookup/strapping table. This can be
obtained from your tank manufacturer. Once you have the appropriate informaon, please email it to support@dunravensystems.com. We will
then update the lookup/strapping table so it is compable with our equipment and send it back to you, with instrucons on how to import it into
your Apollo Smart Monitor.
Determine the dimensions of your tank either from manufacturer’s data for the tank or by physically
measuring to complete the chart.
You only need to note the dimensions indicated on the chart shown above.
For bunded tanks the informaon required is for the internal tank only, where the Apollo Smart Transmier
will be located.
To determine the tank height measure from the top of the tank, i.e. where the Apollo Smart Transmier will
be posioned, to the boom of the tank (N.B. of the internal tank in a bunded tank)
Determine the capacity of the tank from the manufacturer’s data for the brimful capacity.

The Apollo Smart Monitor must be in LEARN mode which can be entered in one of two ways:
A) Pressing SETUP aer compleng STEP 2 above
B) By disconnecng and reconnecng the power
When in LEARN mode the display shows ‘Lrn’ in
the main display area. See image 1. LEARN
mode will last for 2 minutes during which me
you must ‘match/pair’ the Apollo Smart Trans-
mier to the Apollo Smart Monitor.
To match/pair the units: Firstly, note the loca-
on of the alignment pin on the right hand side
of the base of the Smart Monitor. See Image 2.
Using the screw hole of the Apollo Smart Trans-
mier slot it onto the pin as shown in Image 3.
The display of the Apollo Smart Transmier
should be facing in the same direcon as the
Apollo Smart Monitor’s display as shown in
Image 4.
When located properly, the bars in the bar
graph display, of both the Apollo Smart Moni-
tor and the Apollo Smart Transmier will ash
and begin to increase in synch together rising
from one bar to ten bars. A connuous audible
beep and ashing LED on the monitor will also
indicate the matching is in progress. Connue
to hold the units in place unl all 10 bars are
ashing. The Apollo Smart Monitor will make
a loud beep. The Red LED on the Apollo Smart
Transmier will ash. They are now matched
and should be separated immediately.
Following the ‘matching/pairing’ the Apollo Smart Transmier will send data connuously to the Apollo
Smart Monitor for approximately 10 minutes. Each me the Apollo Smart Monitor receives a reading, it will
make a clicking noise and the LED on the Apollo Smart Monitor will blink (this is ‘fast’ mode for the trans-
mier).
During this me conrm that the matching procedure was successful by slowly raising and lowering the Apol-
lo Smart Transmier over a at surface and observing that the display in the Apollo Smart Monitor changes .
‘Fast’ mode will stop aer 10 minutes. The Apollo Smart Transmier is now ready to t onto the tank and
should be ed whilst in ‘Fast’ mode.
You should now proceed immediately to STEP 4 and t the Apollo Smart Trans-
mier to your tank. If it is not ed within 10 minutes, the Apollo Smart Monitor
may display an error or an incorrect reading. It may then take up to 2 hours before
the correct tank level informaon is displayed on the Apollo Smart Monitor screen.

STEP 4 INSTALLING THE APOLLO SMART TRANSMITTER ON THE TANK-
The procedure is the same for ng to both old and new tanks. For bunded
tanks ensure that the Apollo Smart Transmier is located on top of the inner
tank.
For Tank with pre drilled 30/32mm hole-
Remove cap from hole and insert transmier, ensuring the weather seal is
securely in place.
Ensure the transmier is vercal on top of the tank
Tighten on to the tank using the 2 stainless steel 19mm long self tapping -
screws supplied. Do not use longer screws. Do not over ghten.-
For Tank without pre drilled holes-
If tank is not pre-drilled, then using a 30/32mm hole saw, drill hole in top of the tank in a suitable area
to allow ease of ng of the transmier and in an area that the transmier can see the tank contents.
Posion so that there are no internal obstrucons, (i.e. Ribs, Stays, Side of Tank, internal equipment),
that may interfere with the ultrasonic signal.
Use Installaon Help Diagram below to ensure suitable ng.
Ensure the transmier is vercal on top of the tank
Tighten on to the tank using the 2 stainless steel 19mm long self tapping screws supplied. -Do not use
longer screws. Do not over ghten.-
Check the Apollo Smart Monitor display two hours aer mounng the transmier and verify that your Apollo
Smart Monitor display shows the tank level in the bar graph area and the oil volume informaon in the main -
display area. If this is not the case consult the ‘Troubleshoong’ secon of the Apollo Smart Product Manual.
N.B. the bar graph displays on the Apollo Smart Transmier and the Apollo Smart Monitor -
may not be the same. The transmier display indicates the top 1m of the tank while the
Apollo Smart Monitor bar-graph displays the oil level relave to the overall tank height.
STEP 5 (OPTIONAL) PERFORM -
ONLY IF THERE WAS A DELAY IN
INSTALLING THE APOLLO SMART
TRANSMITTER ON THE TANK
You only need to complete this step if there was a gap of
more than an hour between compleng STEP 3 and STEP 4.
STEP 5 is otherwise completed automacally as part of STEP
