should always be followed, including the following:
mWARNING! TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,
ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged
into an electrical outlet. Unplug it from the outlet when it is
not in use and before servicing.
• Do not use the equipment outdoors or in damp or wet
environments. Do not expose the equipment to rain.
• Protect the mains cable from damage. Do not pull or carry
the appliance by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close
a door on the cord, jam the cord, or pull the cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not run the appliance over the
cord. Keep cord away from heat, oil and sharp surfaces.
• Do not unplug the appliance by pulling on the cord. To
unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Before each use, check the power supply lead and the
extension cable for damage and for signs of wear. Do not
use the equipment if the cable or plug is damaged or worn
as this presents a serious risk of electric shock.
• If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, a customer service
agent of the same, or a similarly qualied person in order
to prevent hazards.
• Do not handle the plug or the appliance with wet hands.
• If the appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water,
return it to an authorized service center for repair.
• Switch the machine o and disconnect the mains plug:
- when the machine is not in use,
- before the machine is opened up,
- for all maintenance and cleaning work,
- if the connecting cable is damaged or tangled.
• Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds with the
information on the rating plate.
1
2
• The device must only be connected to a mains socket
via a residual current circuit breaker (RCD) with a rated
leakage current of not more than 30 mA.
• Protect yourself from electric shock. Avoid bodily contact
with earthed parts (e.g. pipes, radiators, electric cookers,
cooling devices).
• Avoid accidental starting. Ensure that the switch is o
before inserting the plug into the socket.
• Turn o all controls before unplugging the appliance.
TO AVOID ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES:
• Keep the appliance away from children and pets.
• The device must not be used by people (including
children)with limited physical, sensory or mental faculties
or by those who lack the necessary experience and/or
knowledge required to properly use the machine. The only
time such individuals may use the machine is when they
are supervised by a person who is responsible for their
safety and can instruct them on the safe operation of the
appliance.
• Children in the work area must be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance. This appliance is
NOT a toy and should never be used as such.
• Never leave a machine that is ready for operation
unattended at the workplace.
• People and animals should never be vacuumed with the
machine.
• Nozzles and suction tubes must not reach head level while
in use as this can result in serious bodily injury.
• Do not vacuum substances or dust particles that are hot,
glowing, combustible, explosive or hazardous to one’s
health. This includes hot ashes, petrol, solvents, acids or
caustic solutions. Personal injury could occur.
mCAUTION! Do not vacuum hazardous substances
(e.g. petrol, solvents, acids or lyes) and ash from unauthorized
fuels (i.e. from oil-burning ovens or heating boilers). These
substances pose a serious risk of injury.
• Do not use the vacuum in areas where ammable or
combustible liquids, such as gasoline, may be present.
• Do not vacuum ne, combustible dust particles that can
ignite and potentially lead to an explosion.
• This ash vacuum is designed for cold ash pickup only. Do
not vacuum hot ashes and hot, glowing or combustible
objects (e.g. charcoal, cigarettes, matches, etc.). These
objects pose a re hazard if vacuumed.
• Do not vacuum liquids, soot, plaster or cement dust.
Vacuuming such substances can damage the equipment.
• Do not use the appliance without the pleated lter and
wire lter basket tted properly in place.
• Do not put foreign objects into openings. Do not use the
vacuum with any opening blocked; keep all openings free
of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air î›…ow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers, and all parts of the body
away from openings and moving parts.
• Maintain proper footing and use extra care when using the
appliance on stairs.
• Always check the hose and vacuum cleaner for heating
when vacuuming.
• The vacuum must not exceed a temperature of 100°F
(40°C). Vacuumed material that appears cool from the
outside may still be hot inside. Hot vacuumed material can
re-ignite in the air stream. Furthermore, the equipment can
be damaged. In the event there is a noticeable increase
in the appliance’s temperature, switch o the equipment
and disconnect the plug. Place the equipment outside and
monitor it as it cools.
TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE APPLIANCE AND
POSSIBLE INJURY TO PEOPLE ADHERE TO
THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS:
• Ensure that the equipment is assembled correctly and the

• When vacuuming, do not place the equipment on heat
sensitive oors. For safety reasons, use a reproof base
when cleaning ovens, chimneys or barbecue equipment.
• Do not extinguish hot ash particles with water as the
sudden temperature dierences can cause cracks in your
chimney.
• Use only replacement parts and accessories supplied and
recommended by our service center (address on page
9). The use of foreign, unauthorized parts will result in
immediate invalidation of the warranty.
• Have repairs carried out only by authorized customer
