IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
DANGER:
Carbon Monoxide. Using a propane heater
indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES.
Propane heater exhaust contains high levels of
carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas you
cannot see or smell. If you can smell the propane
heater exhaust, you are breathing CO. But even
if you cannot smell the exhaust, you could be
breathing CO.
Never use a propane heater inside homes,
garages, crawlspaces, recreational vehicles,
or other partly enclosed areas. Deadly levels of
carbon monoxide can build up in these areas.
Using a fan or opening windows and doors does
NOT supply enough fresh air.
ONLY use a propane heater outdoors and far
away from open windows, doors, and vents.
These openings can pull in propane heater
exhaust.
Propane cylinder must be located outdoors during
operation except during construction or renovation
of buildings not occupied by the public.
Even when you use a propane heater correctly, CO
may leak into the home. ALWAYS use a battery-
powered or battery-backup CO alarm in the home.
If you start to feel sick, dizzy, weak, or experience
a headache after the propane heater has been run-
ning, move to fresh air RIGHT AWAY. See a doctor.
You could have carbon monoxide poisoning. Do
not sleep while propane heater is operating.
DANGER:
If you smell propane gas, shut off propane to the
heater at the propane cylinder. If odor continues,
keep away from the heater and immediately call
your propane gas supplier or your fire department.
WARNING:
FIRE, BURN, INHALATION, AND EXPLO-
SION HAZARD. KEEP SOLID COMBUS-
TIBLES, SUCH AS BUILDING MATERI-
ALS, PAPER, OR CARDBOARD, A SAFE
DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE HEATER
AS RECOMMENDED BY THE INSTRUC-
TIONS. NEVER USE THE HEATER IN
SPACES WHICH DO OR MAY CONTAIN
VOLATILE OR AIRBORNE COMBUSTI-
BLES, OR PRODUCTS SUCH AS GASO-
LINE, SOLVENTS, PAINT THINNER, DUST
PARTICLES OR UNKNOWN CHEMICALS.
WARNING:
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE PRE-
CAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS PRO-
VIDED WITH THIS HEATER CAN RESULT
IN DEATH, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY,
AND PROPERTY LOSS OR DAMAGE
FROM HAZARDS OF FIRE, EXPLOSION,
BURN, ASPHYXIATION, CARBON MON-
OXIDE POISONING, AND/OR ELECTRI-
CAL SHOCK.
ONLY PERSONS WHO CAN UNDER-
STAND AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUC-
TIONS SHOULD USE OR SERVICE THIS
HEATER.
IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE OR HEATER
INFORMATION SUCH AS AN INSTRUC-
TIONS MANUAL, LABEL, ETC. CONTACT
THE MANUFACTURER.
WARNING:
NOT FOR HOME OR RECREATIONAL
VEHICLE USE.
WARNING:
Adequate ventilation must be provided. A minimum
2 ft. sq. (0.19 m2) ventilation opening near floor and
2 ft. sq. (0.19 m2) ventilation opening near ceiling
must be in place during use of this heater. Do not
sleep while heater is operating.
WARNING:
Read and save these instructions. Failure to
follow all instructions listed below, may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always turn off gas at the propane cylinder (liquid propane
also called liquid petroleum gas) when the product is not
in use. Disconnect the cylinder before storage.
Before storing, allow the product to cool for 30 minutes
and remove propane cylinder from the unit. Do not store
a propane cylinder attached to or near the product. If not
followed exactly, a fire causing death or serious injury may
occur.
Inspect the hose for damage before each use. If it is
evident there is excessive abrasion or wear, or the hose
is cut, it must be replaced prior to the product being put
into operation. The replacement hose assembly shall be
that specified by the manufacturer. Use only replacement
hose part no. TYQ-5B1-QG005.
This heater must be located on stable and level surface
and located away from combustible surfaces by no less
than 24 inches from rear and sides of heater and 72 inches
from above and front outlet of heater.
Never fill the propane cylinder beyond 80 percent full. An
overfilled or improperly stored cylinder is a hazard due
to possible gas release from the safety release valve. If
not followed exactly, a fire causing death or serious injury
may occur.
Only use a propane cylinder that includes a collar to
protect the cylinder valve.
If a leak is detected at any time, get away from the
propane cylinder and call the fire department.
Do not use the product until leak-tested.
Propane cylinders must be stored outdoors out of reach
of children and must not be stored in a building, garage,
or any other closed in area.
WORK AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered
benches and dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate propane heaters in explosive atmo-
spheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,
gases, or dust. Propane heaters create sparks which
may ignite the dust or fumes.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
A battery operated product with integral batteries or
a separate battery pack must be recharged only with
the specified charger for the battery. A charger that
may be suitable for one type of battery may create a risk
of fire when used with another battery.
Use battery operated product only with specifically
designated battery pack. Use of any other batteries
may create a risk of fire.
Use battery only with charger listed. For use with 18V
nickel-cadmium and 18V lithium-ion battery packs, see
tool/appliance/battery pack/charger correlation supple-
ment 988000-302.
Protect the power cord from being walked on or
pinched particularly at plugs, convenience recep-
tacles, and the point where they exit from the product.
Unplug this product during lightning storms or when
when not in use.
PERSONAL SAFETY
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.
Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long
hair can be caught in moving parts.
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is in the
locked or off position before inserting battery pack or
extension cord. Carrying the product with your finger on
the switch or inserting the battery pack or extension cord
into the product with the switch on invites accidents.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better
control of the product in unexpected situations.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long
hair. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be drawn
into air vents.
Do not use on a ladder or unstable support. Stable
footing on a solid surface enables better control of the
product in unexpected situations.
PROPANE HEATER USE AND CARE
Do not use the product if switch does not turn it on or
off. A product that cannot be controlled with the switch
is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect battery pack or extension cord from
the product or place the switch in the locked or off
position before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing the product. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting the product
accidentally.
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects like: paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws, or other small metal objects that can make
a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting
the battery terminals together may cause sparks, burns,
or a fire.
Keep the product and its handle dry, clean and free
from oil and grease. Always use a clean cloth when
cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, or any strong solvents to clean your
product. Following this rule will reduce the risk of loss of
control and deterioration of the enclosure plastic.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use this
product near water, especially when it is powered by
the power cord.
Clean only with dry cloth.
Do not operate near any other heat sources such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus
(including amplifiers) that produce heat.
SERVICE
Propane heater service must be performed only by
qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk
of injury.
