PLACEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
LS i7 & LSi9 BOOKSHELF LOUDSPEAKERS
The LSi Series Bookshelf Loudspeakers were designed to provide excellent
performance on a bookshelf, in a wall unit or placed on a floor stand (available
from your Polk Audio retailer, or http://shop.polkaudio.com). For best results place
LSi7 and LSi9 bookshelf models so that the tweeter height is within six inches
(1.5cm) of seated ear height. When using speaker stands select sturdy stands 30-
36 inches (7.5-9cm) high. One LSi Bookshelf speaker is the “left” channel speaker,
and the other is the “right” channel speaker. The serial number label identifies
which speaker is which [figure 1]. The “left” speaker should be placed on the
left side of the room as you face the front of the room [figure 2]. To get the most
realistic stereo image and lifelike sound, place the speakers so that an equilateral
triangle is created between the speakers and your favorite listening position
[figure 3]. If you must place the speakers farther apart than the distance from
which you are listening, angle the speakers toward the middle in order to support
a more solid center image. If you are using your LSi Series Bookshelf Loudspeakers
as rear channels in a home theater system, they should be placed on the rear or
side walls, slightly above (and, on the side walls behind) the listening position
[figures 4a & 4b]. In this case, the speaker marked “left” should be placed on
the left side of the room as you face the back of the room [figure 2] (it becomes
the right rear surround when you face the front of the room).
PLACEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
LSi15 FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKER
One LS Floorstanding speaker is the “left” channel speaker, and the other is thei
“right” channel speaker. The serial number label identifies which speaker is which
[figure 1]. The “left” speaker should be placed on the left side of the room as
you face the front of the room. Note that the tweeters face “in” [figure 2]. To
get the most realistic stereo image and lifelike sound, place the speakers so that
an equilateral triangle is created between the speakers and your favorite listening
position [figure 3]. If your room arrangement forces you to place the speakers
farther apart than the distance from which you are listening, angle the speakers
toward the middle in order to support a more solid center image. Rubber feet and
adjustable carpet spikes are included to provide stability on any type of floor. To
install them, lay the speaker carefully on its side and screw in the spikes as far as
they will go into the threaded inserts in the base of the speaker. For wood or tile
floors, slip a rubber foot over each spike. For carpeted floors, use bare spikes
[figure 5]. You will achieve optimum performance when the speaker is
level and stable in all directions.

RECOMMANDATIONS DE PLACEMENT POUR LES
ENCEINTES D’ÉTAGÈRE LS i7 ET LSi9
Les enceintes d’étagĂšre de la SĂ©rie LS ont Ă©tĂ© conçues pour offrir un excellenti
rendement sur une Ă©tagĂšre, dans un meuble d’élĂ©ments muraux ou sur un
socle (disponible chez votr evendeur Polk Audio ou en ligne à l’adre r esse
http://shop.polkaudio.com). Pour les meilleurs résultats, placez les enceintes LSi7
et LSi9 de façon à ce que les tweeters soit à la hauteur des oreilles (plus ou moins
15 cm) lorsque vous ĂȘtes en position d’écoute. Si vous optez pour des socles,
utilisez des socles robustes de 75 Ă  90 cm de haut. L’enceinte d’étagĂšre LSi droite
est diffĂ©rente de l’enceinte gauche. Les Ă©tiquettes du numĂ©ro de sĂ©rie des
enceintes identifient la droite et la gauche (fig. 1). L’enceinte gauche doit ĂȘtre
placĂ©e Ă  la gauche de votre position d’écoute et la droite Ă  droite (fig. 2). Pour
obtenir l’image stĂ©rĂ©ophonique la plus rĂ©aliste, placez les enceintes de façon Ă 
crĂ©er un triangle Ă©quilatĂ©ral entre les deux enceintes et votre position d’écoute
préférée (fig. 3). Si vous devez placer les enceintes à une distance plus grande
entre elles que leur distance de votre position d’écoute, orientez les enceintes
vers votre position d’écoute afin d’obtenir une image centrale mieux dĂ©finie. Si
vous utilisez les enceintes d’étagĂšre de la SĂ©rie LSi pour les canaux arriĂšre de
votre systÚme de cinéma maison, placez-les contre le mur arriÚre, ou contre les
murs latĂ©raux, derriĂšre votre position d’écoute, lĂ©gĂšrement au dessus du niveau
des oreilles [fig. 4a et 4b]. Dans ce cas, l’enceinte identifiĂ©e « gauche » doit ĂȘtre
placĂ©e Ă  droite derriĂšre votre position (fig. 2) (elle devient l’enceinte du canal
arriĂšre droit).
RECOMMANDATIONS DE PLACEMENT
POUR L’ENCEINTE COLONNE L Si15
L’enceinte colonne LSi15 droite est diffĂ©rente de l’enceinte gauche. Les Ă©tiquettes
du numéro de série des enceintes identifient la droite et la gauche (fig. 1).
L’enceinte gauche doit ĂȘtre placĂ©e Ă  la gauche de votre position d’écoute et la
droite à droite (fig. 2). Notez que les tweeters sont excentrés (fig. 2). Pour obtenir
l’image stĂ©rĂ©ophonique la plus rĂ©aliste, placez les enceintes de façon Ă  crĂ©er un
triangle Ă©quilatĂ©ral entre les deux enceintes et votre position d’écoute prĂ©fĂ©rĂ©e
(fig. 3). Si l’amĂ©nagement de votre piĂšce vous oblige Ă  placer les enceintes Ă  une
distance plus grande entre elles que leur distance de votre position d’écoute,
orientez les enceintes vers votre position d’écoute afin d’obtenir une image
centrale mieux définie. Des picots à tapis et des pieds de caoutchouc sont fournis
pour assurer la stabilitĂ© de l’enceinte sur toute surface de plancher. Pour les
installer, couchez dĂ©licatement l’enceinte et visez complĂštement les picots dans
les douilles taraudĂ©es situĂ©es Ă  la base de l’enceinte. Pour les planchers avec
tapis, utilisez les picots tels quels. Pour les planchers de bois ou de tuile, glissez
un pied de caoutchouc sur chaque picot. Vous obtiendrez le meilleur rendement
de vos enceintes lorsqu’elles sont stables et de niveau.
