Thank you for purchasing this radio-controlled wall clock with LCD. Developed and designed with innovative components and techniques, the
device allows you to read the time to the second, the indoor temperature, the date and the day of the week.
Please read the operating instructions carefully before using the appliance to familiarise yourself with its features and functions and keep them in
a safe place.
Commissioning
1. Insert a new battery (1 x 1.5V, type AA/R6) into the battery compartment of the movement. Observe the correct polarity in the battery
compartment. The clock automatically runs to the "12 o'clock" position and stops there. The clock automatically searches for the radio-
controlled clock signal. As soon as this is received, it automatically sets itself to the correct time.
2. Insert a new battery (1 x 1.5V, type AA/R6) into the battery compartment of the LC display. Observe the correct polarity in the battery
compartment. The display starts automatically. The setting can be found below.
Note: 2x AA batteries for the wall clock are not included.
Settings
Movement
RESET
Press and hold the ‘RESET’ button with a pointed object for about 5 seconds. As soon as
you release the button, the watch will restart. The hands turn to the original setting of 12:00
and the radio signal is searched for again. After a successful radio signal search, the
current time is set automatically.
REC
To search for the radio signal again, press and hold the ‘REC’ button for about 3 seconds.
The second hand moves to 12:00 o'clock, the hour and minute hands rotate until the radio
signal found has been recognised.
SET
Press and hold the ‘SET’ button to set the time manually. After about 3 seconds, the hands
start moving and continue to do so for as long as the ‘SET’ button is pressed.
As soon as the button is released, the hands stop at the set time and after about 5 seconds
the time continues to run normally. Manual time setting is only recommended if the item
is out of range of the DCF-77 radio-controlled clock signal and automatic setting does not
work. As soon as the radio signal is within range again and has been successfully received,
the time is automatically adjusted to the second.
LCD
1. Press the button.SET
2. The year starts to flash. Set the desired year by pressing the buttons and confirm your selection by pressing theUP or DOWN SET button.
3. The month starts to flash. Set the desired month by pressing the buttons and confirm your selection by pressing the button.UP or DOWN SET
4. The day starts to flash. Set the desired day by pressing the buttons and confirm your selection by pressing the button.UP or DOWN SET
5. The 12 or 24 hour display mode flashes. Set the desired display mode by pressing the UP or DOWN buttons and confirm your selection by
pressing the button. In Germany, the standard mode is "SET 24 hr".
6. The hours of the time start to flash. Set the desired value by pressing the buttons and confirm your selection by pressing theUP or DOWN SET
button.
7. The minutes of the time start to flash. Set the desired value by pressing the UP or DOWN buttons and confirm your selection by pressing the
SET button.
The basic settings of the LCD are now complete.
Further settings:
You can now switch between the indoor temperature display in °C and °F by briefly pressing button repeatedly.the UP
You can now switch between the date and digital time display by briefly pressing the button repeatedly.DOWN
You can change the language of the displayed day of the week. To do this, press and hold the button for approx. 3 seconds. One of theUP
country abbreviations (= German), (= Italian), (= French), (= Dutch), (= English) now appears instead ofGER ITAFRE DUT SPA(= Spanish), ENG
the day of the week. Now press the button briefly and repeatedly to switch between the languages. Your selection will be savedUP
automatically after approx. 10 seconds without pressing a button. The day of the week then appears again.
Safety instructions
Our appliance has been designed and manufactured in such a way that it will fulfil its purpose satisfactorily for many years if used properly. To
ensure this, please observe the following safety instructions.
Do not expose the device to extreme loads, such as vibrations, extremely high temperatures or extremely high humidity. This could result in
damage to the electronic components or individual components.
Never drop the appliance into water, as this could lead to complete failure of the appliance.
Never use abrasive cleaning agents or corrosive substances. This could cause irreparable damage to the appliance. Scratching plastic parts
or corroding circuits could be the result.
Never open the housing as this will invalidate the warranty.

Only use new batteries in accordance with the specifications in this manual; never mix old and new batteries. Old batteries could leak and
damage the device.
The appliance may only be used for its intended purpose.
Repairs may only be carried out by authorised specialist personnel.
Only use the appliance after reading this manual carefully and keep it in a safe place. If you give the appliance away or sell it, remember to
include this manual with it.
Battery warnings
Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures, such as direct sunlight or fire. Do not place the device on radiators. Leaking battery acid
can cause damage.
Always insert the batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -) as shown in the battery compartment. ! There is a risk of explosion if theCaution
batteries are inserted with the wrong polarity.
Only use the same type of battery with the corresponding technical data as a replacement.
Do not use old and new batteries together or batteries of different types or manufacturers.
If batteries have leaked, remove them from the battery compartment with a cloth. Dispose of the batteries properly. Avoid contact with
skin, eyes and mucous membranes if battery acid has leaked. In the event of contact with the acid, rinse the affected areas immediately with
plenty of clean water and seek medical advice immediately.
Swallowed batteries are life-threatening. Keep all batteries out of the reach of small children and pets. If batteries have been swallowed, seek
medical help immediately.
Do not allow children to change batteries without adult supervision.
Store batteries in a well-ventilated and dry place.
Remove the batteries if you are not going to use the device for a longer period of time.
Rechargeable batteries:
Risk of explosion! The batteries must not be taken apart, thrown into a fire or short-circuited.
Non-rechargeable batteries:
Risk of explosion!The batteries must not be charged or reactivated by any other means, taken apart, thrown into a fire or short-
circuited.
Remove used batteries from the device immediately and dispose of them properly.
Disposal instructions
Please ensure that you dispose of the batteries and device in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with the
applicable legal regulations.
The end user is legally obliged to return used batteries. The disposal of used batteries in unsorted household waste is prohibited.
The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin on the battery graphically represents this prohibition. Waste batteries contain substances
that can be harmful to the environment and health. These include cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg) and lead (Pb). These substances
are indicated below the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol.
Batteries can be disposed of free of charge at the point of sale or at public collection points and wherever batteries and
accumulators of the type in question are sold.
Please also note that electrical appliances must not be disposed of with normal household waste. These must be disposed of at
collection points, municipal waste disposal centres or via the manufacturer/seller. This also applies to our appliances, which you
can dispose of free of charge at public / municipal collection centres. For this reason, our appliances are labelled with the
crossed-out dustbin with the underline.
By contributing to the proper disposal of this product, you are protecting the environment and the health of your fellow human
beings. Incorrect or improper disposal jeopardises the environment and health
