AUDIO-OUT
SCART SOCKET AND CABLE
This unit is supplied with a scart cable.
Connect this scart cable to your HAV-KCD11 and TV
to see the lyrics of the CDG disc on your TV.
AUDIO OUTPUT
There is a pair of RCA sockets at the rear of the unit
marked AUDIO OUT L / R. This allows the audio
signal generated by the HAV-KCD11 to be connected
to a separate audio ampliο¬ er for further ampliο¬ cation.
SINGING TO MUSIC
The microphone can operate together with the CD
functions
1. Insert the supplied microphone into one of the MIC
input sockets.
2. Move the on/off switch on the microphone to the ON
position and operate the microphone.
3. Adjust MIC 1 or MIC 2 volume level and master volume control as required.
4. To add ambience to your voice adjust the echo control as required.
5. Use the AVC switch to cut and control the vocals from the music being played.
6. While playing a karaoke disc, switch MUSIC / VOCAL control to the music side to adjust
music volume and to the vocal side to adjust vocal volume.
PLAYING CD
1. Push the CD door to open the disc compartment, and load a CD.
2. Close the door, the unit will search the track and the display will show the total number
of tracks.
3. Press the ξ button, playback will begin from the start of the ο¬ rst track.
4. Press the ξ
ξ or button to select the track of your choice.
A particular track can be selected by pressing ξ
ξ or buttons. If this is done before
pressing the ξ button, disc play will start with the selected track when the ξ button
is pressed.

TO STOP A CD WHILE PLAYING
1. Press the stop button, playback will stop, the play indicator will go off and the display will
show the total number of tracks.
2. To temporarily stop playing (pause mode), press the button, playback will pause at ξ
the current play position.
3. To resume playback, press the button again. The player indicator will be displayed.ξ
TRACK SKIP
To skip to the next track on a disc.
1. For example to skip ahead to the beginning of track 5 while track 4 is playing.
2. Press the ξ button once. Disc play will resume at the beginning of track 5. The CD
player will skip to the next track each time the button is pressed. Repeatedly ξ
pressing the button makes the CD player skip ahead through the disc track by ξ
track. Once the beginning of the last track is reached the CD player will not advance any
further.
To skip back to the previous track on a disc.
1. For example, to skip back to the beginning of track 3 while track 4 is playing.
2. Press the ξ
button twice. Playback will resume at the beginning of track 3. The CD
player will skip back one track each time the button is pressed. If this button is ξ
pressed once in the middle of a track, the CD player will skip back to the beginning
of that track. To make it skip back to the previous track press the button twice. ξ
Repeatedly pressing the button make the CD player skip back through the disc ξ
track by track. Once the beginning of the ο¬ rst track is reached, the CD player will not go
back any further.
Note: The ξ
ξ or buttons can be used to select a desired track before playback has
been started. In this case the number of the selected track will be displayed until the ξ
button is pressed.
REPEAT DISC
If the repeat button is pressed during normal disc play, the following repeat functions are
displayed in sequence in the CD display.
Repeat indicator ο¬ ashing: Repeats the track currently playing
Repeat indicator on: Repeats the whole disc
Repeat indicator off: Repeat mode off
IMPORTANT NOTES
Establish a safe sound level:
Over time your hearing will adapt to the sound level and will give the impression that the
volume has in fact been reduced. What seems normal to you may in fact be harmful. To
avoid ear damage, lower the volume before your hearing adapts to the sound level.
