Disposal of Old Electrical Appliances

The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old

household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in normal unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances

must be collected separately in order to optimise the recovery and recycling of the materials they

contain and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin”

symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance it must be

separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information

concerning the correct disposal of their old appliance.

When writing or emailing us to report a fault please ensure you attach a copy of your proof of purchase.

Please retain your original

This product is guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase against

mechanical and electrical defects.

The warranty cover consumable parts that require replacement under does not

normal use or accessories. This includes ﬁlters, belts, and accessory attachments.

1. If a fault develops within 6 months of purchase it should be returned to the place

of purchase for exchange.

2. If the fault develops after 6 months and within 24 months of purchase please

contact our customer service department 01473 271 272 or write to us at the

address detailed below.

Please quote the model number which begins IG, the ‘Batch Number’ beginning ‘5’

and give details of the exact fault.

We will then decide whether to repair or replace the item. You will be required to return a copy of your proof of

purchase. Please retain your original.

If an item is replaced under guarantee within 2 years, the guarantee for the replacement item will be calculated from

the purchase date of the original.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Important: This appliance is not intended for use by persons including children with reduced physical, sensory

or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliances by a person responsible for their safety.

1. This kettle is designed for domestic use only and NOT for commercial applications. No responsibility is

accepted for damage resulting from improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.

2. Read these instructions before use and keep in a safe place.

3. Ensure that the electricity supply in your home is rated at 220 - 240 volts before operating the appliance.

4. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

5. Do not use or keep the kettle outside.

6. Always unplug the appliance before attempting to move it.

7. Repairs to electrical appliances are only to be undertaken by a trained personnel. Repairs by untrained

professionals can be dangerous.

8. To protect against ﬁre, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse the cord, plug, kettle or base in

water or any other liquid.

9. Unplug from the power socket when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking

oﬀ parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been

damaged in any manner.

11. The use of accessories not recommended and may result in ﬁre, electric shock or injury to persons.

12. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch a hot surface.

13. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

14. Operate on a ﬁrm, ﬂat surface out of reach of children.

15. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

16. To disconnect from the power supply, ensure that switch is in the “Oﬀ” position and remove plug from the

power socket. Always hold the plug, never pull the cord.

17. Some parts of appliance are hot when operated, so do not touch with hand. Use handles only.

18. Do not let the kettle operate without water.

19. Avoid contact with steam from the spout during or after boiling.

20. Take care when pouring boiling water.

21. The base cannot be used for anything other than its intended use.

22. The kettle can only be used with the base provided.

23. If the kettle is ﬁlled past the ‘MAX’ level, boiling water may spill out.

24. Ensure the lid is ﬁrmly closed and do not open the lid whilst boiling.

25. Never modify the kettle in anyway. Unauthorised modiﬁcations will void your warranty.
