Special conditions for safe operation
For units with terminal chamber (cable gland) and for cabled units sufficient strain relief •
must be ensured or the cable must be firmly laid.
Do not disconnect the cables of units with terminal chamber while live.•
For units with connector the connector must be secured so that it cannot be separated •
without using a tool. To do so, use lock rings. They are available as accessories (order no.
E11532 for M12 sockets with max. 11 mm wide nut).
As an alternative ifm sockets with hexagonal nut can be used. Secure the connector by •
tightening the nut sufficiently (tightening torque: minimum 0.6 Nm, maximum 0.8 Nm).
If you do not use ifm sockets, ensure by means of a sufficient tightening torque that the nut •
cannot be loosened manually.
Do not disconnect the connector while live.•
Apply a durable warning in suitable form close to the connector reading: „Do not separate •
plug while energized“ or use the enclosed label if you can ensure a durable marking.
Note: insert a miniature fuse according to the technical data sheet, if specified. Place the •
fuse outside the hazardous area.
