READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including but not
limited to the following:
The steamer is not a toy. NEVER let children play with the steamer.
Before plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet, be sure that all electrical
information on the rating label conforms with your power supply.
Do not operate the steamer with a damaged cord, plug or steam vent, after the
steamer malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the steamer. Take it to a qualified service
person for repair. Incorrect reassembling or repair could cause a risk of fire,
electric shock or injuries.
To avoid electrical shock, do not immerse the steamer in water or other liquids.
To reduce the risk of contact with hot water coming out of the steam vents, check
the steamer before each use by holding it away from your body.
Use the steamer only in an up or down vertical motion. Never use the steamer in
a horizontal position or tilt into a backward position, as this may result in a hot
water spill. Let the steamer cool down completely before storing it.
Burns could occur from touching hot parts, hot water or steam. Use care when
you empty the steamer. Hot water could still be in the reservoir.
Do not direct the steam at people, animals or plants.
Do not steam clothes while they are being worn.
Always disconnect the steamer from the electrical outlet when filling it with
water, emptying the water or when it is not in use.
If an extension cord is being used, the marked electrical rating should be at least
as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. Cords rated for less amperage
may overheat. Care should be taken when using an extension cord so that it
cannot be pulled or tripped over.
Mineral build-up
Over time, the steamer will start to build up mineral deposits. When water is
converted to steam, the calcium remains and causes scaling of the interior,
showing up as white residue or white colored deposits. This is a normal process
and happens in all electrical appliances that use water, caused by high mineral
content in many municipal water supplies. The harder the water in your area, the
faster scale impurities will develop and solidify if not cleaned away.
The best way to minimize mineral build-up is to use distilled or de-mineralized
water when using the steamer.
