2 Specific installer safety
instructions
Always observe the following safety instructions and regulations.
Unit installation (see [
"4Unit installation" 45])
WARNING
Installation shall be done by an installer, the choice of
materials and installation shall comply with the applicable
legislation. In Europe, EN378 is the applicable standard.
Installation site (see [
"4.1Preparing the installation site" 45])
WARNING
The appliance shall be stored in a room without
continuously operating ignition sources (example: open
flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric
heater).
WARNING
DO NOT reuse refrigerant piping that has been used with
any other refrigerant. Replace the refrigerant pipes or
clean thoroughly.
WARNING
Follow the service space dimensions in this manual to
install the unit correctly. See "4.1.1 Installation site
requirements of the indoor unit"[45].
WARNING
Chimney connection. When connecting a chimney, take
the following into account:
â–ª Unit's connection point for the chimney = 1" male
thread. Use a compatible counterpart for the chimney.
â–ª Make sure the connection is airtight.
â–ª The chimney material is unimportant.
CAUTION
Install the indoor unit at a minimum distance of 1 m from
other heat sources (>80°C) (e.g. electrical heater, oil
heater, chimney) and combustible materials. Otherwise the
unit may be damaged or in extreme cases catch fire.
Special requirements for R32 (see "4.1.2Special requirements
for R32 units"[45])
WARNING
â–ª Do NOT pierce or burn refrigerant cycle parts.
â–ª Do NOT use means to accelerate the defrosting
process or to clean the equipment, other than those
recommended by the manufacturer.
â–ª Be aware that R32 refrigerant does NOT contain an
odour.
WARNING
The appliance shall be stored so as to prevent mechanical
damage and in a well-ventilated room without continuously
operating ignition sources (example: open flames, an
operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater)
and have a room size as specified below.
WARNING
Make sure installation, servicing, maintenance and repair
comply with instructions from Daikin and with applicable
legislation (for example national gas regulation) and are
executed ONLY by authorised persons.
