For your safety
Do not store or use gasoline or other ļ¬‚ammable vapors and
liquids in the vicinity of this unit or any other appliance. Read
product labels for ļ¬‚ammability and other warnings.
Child Safety
ā€¢ī€€ Destroyī€€ carton,ī€€ plasticī€€ bags,ī€€ andī€€ anyī€€ exteriorī€€ wrappingī€€
material immediately after the freezer is unpacked. Children
should never use these items for play. Cartons covered with
rugs, bedspreads, plastic sheets or stretch wrap may become
airtight chambers and can quickly cause suffocation.

or play. Remove the door/lid of the freezer when not in use,
even if you plan to discard the freezer. Many communities

during shipping. Small objects are a choke hazard to chil-
dren.
Risk of Child Entrapment
Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the
past. Junked or abandoned refrigerators or freezers are still

FIRST STEPS
This Ownerā€™s Guide provides speciļ¬c operating instruc-
tions for your model. Use the freezer only as instructed in
this Ownerā€™s Guide. Before starting the freezer, follow
these important ļ¬rst steps.
INSTALLATION
ā€¢ī€€ Chooseī€€aī€€placeī€€thatī€€isī€€nearī€€aī€€groundedī€€electricalī€€
outlet. Do Not use an extension cord or an adapter
plug.
ā€¢ī€€ Forī€€theī€€mostī€€efī¬cientī€€operation,ī€€theī€€freezerī€€shouldī€€
be located where surrounding temperatures will not
exceedī€€110Ā°Fī€€(43Ā°C).ī€€Temperaturesī€€ofī€€32Ā°Fī€€(0Ā°C)ī€€andī€€
belowī€€willī€€NOTī€€affectī€€freezerī€€operation.ī€€Additionalī€€
compressor heaters are not recommended.
ā€¢ī€€ Allow space around the unit for good air circulation.
Leaveī€€aī€€3ī€€inchī€€(75ī€€mm)ī€€spaceī€€onī€€allī€€sidesī€€ofī€€theī€€
freezer for adequate circulation.
NOTE: Theī€€exteriorī€€wallsī€€ofī€€theī€€freezerī€€mayī€€becomeī€€quiteī€€
warm as the compressor works to transfer heat from the
inside.ī€€ī€€Temperaturesī€€asī€€muchī€€asī€€30Ā°ī€€Fī€€warmerī€€thanī€€roomī€€
temperatureī€€canī€€beī€€expected.ī€€ī€€Forī€€thisī€€reasonī€€itī€€isī€€particu-
larly important in hotter climates to allow enough space for
air circulation around your freezer.
LEVELING
The freezer must have all bottom corners resting ļ¬rmly on
a solid ļ¬‚oor. The ļ¬‚oor must be strong enough to support
a fully loaded freezer. It is NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT for
your freezer to be level in order to function properly. If the
freezer is not leveled during installation, the door may be
misaligned and not close or seal properly, causing cooling,
frost, or moisture problems.
To Level Upright Models:
Afterī€€discardingī€€cratingī€€screwsī€€andī€€woodī€€base,ī€€useī€€aī€€car-
penterā€™sī€€levelī€€toī€€levelī€€theī€€freezerī€€fromī€€front-to-back.ī€€Adjustī€€
the plastic leveling feet in front, Ā½ bubble higher, so that
the door closes easily when left halfway open.

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
These guidelines must be followed to ensure that safety
mechanisms in the design of this freezer will operate prop-
erly.

The power cord of the appiiance is equipped with a
three prong plug for your protection against shock
hazards. It must be plugged directly into a properly

amp timedelay fuse or circuit breaker. The receptacle
must be installed in accordance with local codes
and ordinances. Consult a qualiļ¬ed electrician.

EXTENSION CORD OR ADAPTER PLUG.
ā€¢ If voltage varies by 10% or more, freezer performance
may be affected. Operating freezer with insufļ¬cient
power can damage the motor. Such damage is
not covered under the warranty. If you suspect your
household voltage is high or low, consult your power
company for testing.

accidentically, do not plug unit into an outlet controlled
by a wall switch or pull cord.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS

the receptacle.
