All Operators Must Read
These Instructions Before Use
Always follow these safety guidelines. Failure
to do so may result in electric shock, re and/or
serious injury.
General Safety
mWARNING! Before starting up your
vacuum, please check it carefully for any
defects. If you nd any, do not start up your
vacuum. Instead, contact your authorized
Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® dealer or call the Snow
Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service center at

mWARNING! When using the vacuum,
basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock,
and personal injury. These include:
• Usage – This vacuum is intended for
household use indoors or in vehicles only.
Do not use outdoors.
• Not a toy – The vacuum is not to be
used as a toy. Pay attention when using it
near children, pets or plants. Use only as
described in this manual. Use only with the
manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
• Avoid unintentional starting – Ensure the
switch is in the o-position before installing
the battery, picking up or carrying the
device. Do not carry the vacuum with your
thumb on the power button; doing so may
result in an accident.
• Avoid water – Do not expose the vacuum
to rain, damp or wet conditions. Do not
immerse in water. Water entering the unit
will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Noise and vibrations – If the vacuum
should start to vibrate abnormally, stop it
and inspect thoroughly for damage.
• Damage – If the device is not working as it
should, has been dropped, damaged, left
outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to
a service center.
• Vents – Do not use the vacuum if the vents
are blocked. Do not put any objects into the
vents and keep them free of dust, lint, hair,
or anything that may reduce air î›…ow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, ngers, Danger –
and all body parts away from openings.
• Stairs – Use extra care when cleaning on
stairs.
• Do not vacuum ammable or Fire risk –
combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or
use in areas where they may be present.
Do not vaccum anything that is burning or
smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or
hot ashes.
• Filter – Never use the vacuum cleaner
without its lter.
Maintenance + Storage
mWARNING! Do not use detergents,
acids, alkaline solutions, bleaches or solvents
such as acetone to clean your vacuum. These
substances may damage the plastic housing of
the machine.
• Replacement parts – Inspect the vacuum
for worn, missing, or damaged parts.
When servicing this unit, use only identical
replacement parts. Replace or repair
damaged parts immediately.
• Store indoors – When not in use, the
vacuum should be stored indoors in a dry
place out of the reach of children.
Battery & Charger
Safety Instructions
We pay a great deal of attention to the design of
every battery pack to ensure that we supply you
with batteries that are safe, durable and have
a high energy density. The battery cells have a
wide range of safety devices. Each individual
cell is initially formatted and its electrical
characteristic curves are recorded. This data
is then used exclusively to assemble the best
possible battery packs.
Despite all the safety precautions, caution must
always be exercised when handling batteries.
The following points must be obeyed at all
times to ensure safe use. Safe use can only
be guaranteed if undamaged cells are used.
Incorrect handling of the battery pack can cause
cell damage.
IMPORTANT! Analyses conrm that incorrect
use and poor care of high-performance batteries
are the main factors responsible for product
damage and/or personal injury.
2
mCAUTION! To reduce the risk of injury,
use only ocial 24V iON+ designated chargers
and battery packs. The use of other batteries or
chargers poses a risk of re, personal injury and
damage.
mWARNING! Do not use a battery pack
or product that has been damaged or modied.
Damaged or modied batteries may exhibit
unpredictable behavior resulting in re, explosion
or risk of injury.
Do not modify or attempt to repair the product
or the battery pack except as indicated in the
instructions for use and care. Do not wire a
battery pack to a power supply or car cigarette
lighter, as such misuse will permanently disable
or damage the battery pack.
Have your battery pack serviced by a qualied
repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
battery pack is maintained.
mWARNING! To reduce the risk of
electric shock, always unplug the charger before
performing any cleaning or maintenance. Do
not allow water to come into contact with the
charger. Do not handle any part of the charger
with wet hands. Use a Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) to reduce the risk of electric
shock.
• Remove battery – Remove the battery
pack from the vacuum when not in
use, before changing nozzles, or before
performing any other maintenance task
to reduce the risk of accidental starting.
Never leave the vacuum unattended while
switched on. In the event of an accident
or breakdown, switch o the vacuum
immediately.
• Avoid dangerous environments – Do not
charge the battery pack in rain, snow or
in damp or wet locations. Do not use the
battery pack or charger in the presence of
explosive atmospheres (gaseous fumes,
dust or î›…ammable materials) because
sparks may be generated when inserting
or removing the battery pack, which could
lead to a re.
• Charging – Charging improperly may
damage the battery and increase the risk
of re. Follow all charging instructions and
do not charge the battery pack or appliance
outside of the temperature range specied
below.
NOTE: The safe temperature range for the
battery is 41°F (5°C) to 105°F (40.5°C).
• Charge in a well-ventilated area –
Do not allow smoking or open î›…ames near
a charging battery pack. Vented gases may
explode.
• Maintain charger cord – When unplugging
the charger, pull the plug, not the cord from
the receptacle to reduce the risk of damage
to the power cord. Never carry the charger
by its cord. Keep the cord away from heat,
oil and sharp edges. Make sure the cord
will not be stepped on, tripped over or
subjected to damage or stress when the
charger is in use. Do not use a charger
with a damaged cord or plug. Replace a
damaged charger immediately.
• Do not use an extension cord unless it is
absolutely necessary – Using the wrong,
damaged or improperly wired extension
cord poses a risk of re and electric shock.
If an extension cord must be used, plug the
charger into a properly wired 16 gauge or
larger extension cord with the female plug
matching the male plug on the charger.
Make sure that the extension cord is in
good electrical condition.
• Do not burn battery packs – Do not
expose the device to re or excessive
temperatures. Exposure to re or
temperatures above 265°F (130°C) may
cause an explosion. Toxic fumes and
materials are created when battery packs
are burned.
• Do not crush, drop or damage battery
packs – Do not use the battery pack or
charger if they have sustained a sharp
blow, been dropped from a height of more
than 3 feet (1 meter), run over or have
been damaged in any way. Even if the
housing of the battery pack appears to be
undamaged, the battery cells inside the
battery may have suered serious damage.
In such instances, please read the waste
disposal information for proper battery
disposal.
• Do not disassemble – Incorrect
reassembly may pose a serious risk of
electric shock, re or exposure to toxic
battery chemicals.
