Safety
• Do not operate surge protector in explosive environments, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gasses, or dusts. Electrical equipment may create sparks
which may ignite the liquid, dust, or fumes.
• Keep power cords away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts. Discontinue use immediately in case of power cord damage. Damaged cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
• For indoor use only. Do not use this surge protector outdoors or in hot or damp locations. Do not use solvents or liquids when cleaning the surge protector. Use
only clean, dry cloths to remove dirt, carbon dust or other residue. Do not use with aquarium equipment.
• Do not install this device during a lightning storm.
CAUTION - Do not install this device if there is not at least 10 meters (30 Feet) or more of wire between the electrical
outlet and the electrical service panel.
Indicators and Switches
Protection Working - When the power switch is turned on, the green ‘Protection Working’ indicator illuminates to tell you the surge protector is capable of
protecting your equipment from harmful electrical surges. Your equipment will be protected even when the surge protector’s power switch is turned off. If the indicator does
not illuminate when the power switch is turned on, the unit has sustained damage and is no longer capable of protecting your equipment. It should be returned according to
the instructions on the reverse side of the page.
Overload Indicator - illuminates yellow to indicate the surge protector is loaded in excess of 12 amps. Please disconnect devices until the indicator is no longer
illuminated.
Power Switch/Circuit Breaker - The combination power switch/circuit breaker turns on power to the surge protector’s receptacles and acts as a circuit breaker to
protect against overloads (>15 amps). If the circuit breaker has tripped due to an overload, first unplug one or more pieces of equipment and then reset the circuit breaker by
turning the switch OFF and then ON.
Installation
1. Make sure the surge protector’s power switch is turned OFF.
2. Plug the surge protector’s power cord into a properly wired outlet.
Most power tools are double insulated and equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). Polarized plugs will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, do not force it into the surge protector. Discontinue the use of the tool. Do not
change the plug in any way.
3. Plug the power cord from your computer and/or other electrical equipment into the surge protector’s outlets . The two outlets to the far right provide for
connection of a transformer block-type plug.
Note: Verify your computer and electrical equipment operate correctly before plugging them into the surge protector.
4. Turn ON the surge protector’s power switch to supply power to the connected equipment.
Note: This device features an internal protection which will disconnect the surge protection component at the end of its useful life but will maintain power to the load
- now unprotected. If this situation is undesirable for the application, follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacing the device.
