Rechargeable Nickel-Cadmium Battery Warning
qThe EP200 handset contains a rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery.
qCadmium is a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer.
qThe rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery contained in this equipment may
explode if disposed of in a ļ¬re.
qDo not short-circuit the battery.
qDo not charge the rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery used in this equipment in
any charger other than the one designed to charge this battery as speciļ¬ed in the
ownerās manual. Using another charger may damage the battery or cause the
battery to explode.
Rechargeable Nickel-Cadmium Batteries
Must Be Recycled or Disposed of Properly
qUniden voluntarily participates in an RBRCĀ®industry program to collect and
recycle nickel-cadmium batteries at the end of their useful life, when taken out of
service within the United States. The RBRCĀ®program provides a convenient
alternative to placing used nickel-cadmium batteries into the trash or municipal
waste stream, which is illegal in some areas.
qThrough the RBRCĀ®program, Uniden makes it easy for you to drop oļ¬ the used
battery at local retailers of replacement nickel-cadmium batteries. You may also
contact your local recycling center for information on where to return the used
battery. Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY for information on Ni-Cd battery recycling in
your area. Unidenās involvement in this program is part of its commitment to
protecting our environment and conserving natural resources.
