This manual is written for system integrators, IT technicians, and knowledgeable end users.
It provides information for the installation and use of the B12DPE-6 motherboard.
About This Motherboard
The Supermicro B12DPE-6 supports dual 3rd Gen IntelĀ® XeonĀ® Scalable processors (in
Socket-P+) with up to 38 CPU cores and a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 270W. Built
with the Intel LBG-2/LBG-4 chipset, the B12DPE-6 motherboard supports up to 8TB 3DS
LRDIMM/LRDIMM/3DS RDIMM/RDIMM DDR4 ECC memory with speeds up to 3200 MHz in
32 DIMMs, and up to 12TB IntelĀ® Optaneā„¢ PMem 200 Series memory (512GB x16 + 256GB
x16) with speeds up to 3200 MHz. (See the notes below). This motherboard features superior
IO capability, including dual 25G onboard Mellanox ConnectX-4 connectors, one mezzanine
connector (with dual 25G Ethernet support), and two Supermicro proprietary PCIe Gen2/3 x16
add-on modules (AOMs) that support three SATA3 HDDs/SSDs or three NVMe SSDs. It also
offers the most advanced data protection features with TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and
RoT (Root of Trust) support. The B12DPE-6 is optimized for High Performance Computing
(HPC), high-density applications and is ideal for use in 6U SuperBlade servers that require
high-speed IO and disaggregated front IO card support. Please note that this motherboard is
intended to be installed and serviced by professional technicians only. For processor/memory
updates, please refer to our website at http://www.supermicro.com/products/.
