IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always

be followed, including the following:

1. Read all instructions.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or Toaster

in water or other liquid.

4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5. Unplug Toaster from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool

before putting on or taking off parts.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the

appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance

to the nearest Authorized Service Facility for examination, repair or adjustment.

7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance

manufacturer may cause injuries.

8. Do not use outdoors.

9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

USING THE TOASTER

Before first use

2Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.

1Shorten cord, if necessary, by wrapping

cord under the base. The toaster’s feet

are tall enough to allow the cord to exit

from under any side of the toaster.

Before using your Toaster, check the extra-wide slots and remove any packing or printed

material that might have fallen inside during shipping or handling. To avoid damage to the

Toaster, do not probe inside the Toaster slots with any metal objects.

Your KitchenAid® Toaster offers ease of use and exceptional control. With simple start-to-

finish toasting, the Toaster automatically defrosts, toasts bread or bagels, then keeps them

warm before serving.

NOTE: You may see light smoke the first time you use the Toaster. This is normal. The

smoke is harmless and will soon dissipate.

USING THE TOASTER

3Press down on lift lever to start the

toasting cycle. If Keep Warm isn’t

selected, the toast will rise automatically

at the end of the cycle and the Toaster

will turn off.

TIP: For smaller items, lift up on the lift

lever to raise toast above the top of the

Toaster.

2Insert bread or other food to be toasted

into the slot(s).

1Select your desired shade by turning

the shade control knob to the right for

darker toasting or to the left for lighter

toasting. To reheat toast that has cooled,

turn the shade control knob to the far

left of the shade control settings.

NOTE: The age, type, and moisture level

of different breads may require different

shade settings. For example, dry bread will

brown more rapidly than moist bread and

will require a lighter setting.

NOTE: To activate the Keep Warm

function, press down on the lift lever,

then press the KEEP WARM button.

NOTE: For even toasting, toast only one

bread type and thickness at a time. If

toasting bagels, be sure to press the

Bagel button. See “Toasting Bagels.”

4To cancel toasting at any time, press

CANCEL. The Toaster will raise the

toast and turn off.

to the next without any additional effort on your part.

Toasting Bagels

3Press the BAGEL button. The Bagel

indicator light will glow. If Keep Warm

isn’t selected, the bagel(s) will rise

automatically at the end of the cycle

and the Toaster will turn off.

2With the shade control knob set to

your desired shade, press down on the

lift lever to start the toasting cycle.

1Insert bagels with the cut side facing in

as shown.

TIP: The Bagel function can be used at the

same time as the Defrost and Keep Warm

functions.

Your Toaster features a special setting for bagels, ensuring optimal heating time for the best

results. The heating elements will adjust to nicely toast the inside of a cut bagel without

burning the outside surface.

SPECIAL TOASTING FUNCTIONS

Defrosting

2With the shade control knob set to

your desired shade, press down on the

lift lever to start the toasting cycle.

1Insert bread or other food to be toasted

into the slot(s).

The Defrost function adds additional time to the toasting cycle to defrost frozen items

before toasting them.

3Press the DEFROST button. The

Defrost indicator light will glow. If

Keep Warm isn’t selected, the toast

will rise automatically at the end of the

cycle and the Toaster will turn off.

TIP: The Defrost function can be used

at the same time as the Bagel and Keep

Warm functions.

SPECIAL TOASTING FUNCTIONS

The Keep Warm function holds toast in low, gentle heat for 3 minutes after toasting.

3Press the KEEP WARM button. The

Keep Warm indicator light will blink

slowly.

TIP: The Keep Warm function can be

used at the same time as the Bagel and

Defrost functions.

your desired shade, press down on the

lift lever to start the toasting cycle.

1Insert bread or other food to be toasted

into the slot(s).

4When the toasting cycle is complete,

the Keep Warm indicator light will stop

blinking and glow continuously while

the toaster keeps the toast warm for 3

minutes after toasting.

TROUBLESHOOTING

NOTE: KitchenAid does not recommend

the use of a toaster cover.

If your toaster should fail to operate,

check the following:

1. Check that the Toaster is plugged into a

grounded 3 prong electrical outlet. If it is,

unplug the Toaster.

2. Plug in Toaster.

3. If the Toaster still does not work, check

the household fuse or circuit breaker.

If the problem cannot be corrected:

See the KitchenAid “Warranty and Service”

sections. Do not return the Toaster to the

retailer; retailers do not provide service.

CARE AND CLEANING

3Press “PUSH” (located in center of the

crumb tray) so that it opens slightly,

then slide it out of the Toaster. Shake

the crumbs into a waste container. For

consistent browning results, empty the

crumb tray after each use. Crumb tray

is hand-wash only.

4Return crumb tray to Toaster. Press in

on the center of the crumb tray until

it clicks into position. Do not use the

Toaster without the crumb tray fully

in place.

UTILISATION DU GRILLE-PAIN

Avant la première utilisation

2Brancher l’appareil dans une prise à 3

alvéoles reliée à la terre.

1Raccourcir le cordon si nécessaire en

l’enroulant sous le socle. Les pieds du

grille-pain sont suffisamment grands

pour permettre de sortir le cordon sous

n’importe quel côté du grille-pain.

Avant d’utiliser le grille-pain, inspecter les fentes extra larges et retirer tout emballage ou

document papier qui aurait pu tomber à l’intérieur durant l’expédition ou la manipulation de

l‘appareil. Pour éviter d’endommager le grille-pain, ne pas fouiller l’intérieur des fentes du

grille-pain avec des objets métalliques.

Le grille-pain KitchenAid® offre une facilité d’utilisation et un réglage exceptionnel. Avec un

simple grillage du début à la fin, le grille-pain décongèle automatiquement, fait griller du pain

ou des bagels, puis les garde au chaud jusqu’au moment de servir.

REMARQUE : Une légère fumée peut être vue lors de la première utilisation du grille-

pain. Ceci est normal. La fumée est inoffensive et se dissipera bientôt.

UTILISATION DU GRILLE-PAIN

3Appuyer sur la manette pour démarrer

le programme de grillage. Si la fonction

Maintien au chaud n’est pas sélectionnée,

le toast se soulève automatiquement

à la fin du programme et le grille-pain

s’éteint.

CONSEIL : Pour des articles plus petits,

lever la manette pour soulever le toast au-

delà du niveau du grille-pain.

2Insérer du pain ou un autre aliment à

faire griller dans une des fentes.

1Sélectionner le brunissement souhaité

en tournant le bouton de contrôle du

brunissement vers la droite pour un

toast plus grillé ou vers la gauche pour

un toast moins grillé. Pour réchauffer un

toast qui a refroidi, tourner le bouton de

contrôle du brunissement à l’extrême

gauche des réglages de contrôle du

brunissement.

REMARQUE : L’âge, le type, et le niveau

d’humidité de différents pains peuvent

nécessiter des réglages différents du

brunissement. Par exemple, du pain sec

grillera plus rapidement que du pain frais et

exigera un réglage plus faible.

REMARQUE : Pour activer la fonction

Maintien au chaud, appuyer sur la manette,

puis appuyer sur le bouton KEEP WARM

(maintien au chaud)

REMARQUE : Pour un brunissement

uniforme, ne faire griller qu’un seul type de

pain de même épaisseur à la fois. Si l’on fait

griller des bagels, veiller à appuyer sur le

bouton Bagel. Voir “Faire griller des bagels”.

4Pour annuler le grillage à tout moment,

appuyer sur CANCEL (annulation). Le

grille-pain soulève le toast et s’éteint.

(décongélation, bagel, ou maintien au chaud), et le grille-pain est automatiquement réglé sur

une autre étape sans autre effort supplémentaire.

Faire griller des bagels

3Appuyer sur le bouton BAGEL. Le

témoin lumineux de Bagel s’allume.

Si la fonction Maintien au chaud n’est

pas sélectionnée, le ou les bagels se

soulèvent automatiquement à la fin du

programme et le grille-pain s’éteint.

2Après avoir réglé la manette de

brunissement au degré de brunissement

souhaité, appuyer sur la manette pour

démarrer le programme de grillage.

1Insérer les bagels en orientant les faces

tranchées vers l’intérieur tel qu’illustré.

CONSEIL : La fonction Bagel peut être

utilisée en même temps que les fonctions

Décongélation et Maintien au chaud.

Le grille-pain comporte un réglage spécial pour le brunissement des bagels, assurant ainsi

une durée de chauffage optimale pour de meilleurs résultats. Les éléments de chauffage

s’ajustent pour faire griller l’intérieur d’un bagel coupé en deux sans toutefois brûler la

surface extérieure.

FONCTIONS SPÉCIALES DE GRILLAGE

La fonction Maintien au chaud maintient le toast à feu doux pendant 3 minutes après le

brunissement.

3Appuyer sur le bouton KEEP WARM

(maintien au chaud). Le témoin lumineux

Keep Warm (maintien au chaud) clignote

lentement.

CONSEIL : La fonction Maintien au chaud

peut être utilisée en même temps que les

fonctions Bagel et Décongélation.

2Après avoir réglé la manette de

brunissement au degré de brunissement

souhaité, appuyer sur la manette pour

démarrer le programme de grillage.

1Insérer du pain ou un autre aliment à

faire griller dans une des fentes.

4Lorsque le programme de grillage est

terminé, le témoin de maintien au chaud

s’arrête de clignoter et reste allumé en

continu tandis que le grille-pain maintien

le toast au chaud pendant 3 minutes

après le brunissement.

FONCTIONS SPÉCIALES DE GRILLAGE

IMPORTANT : Juste après un programme de grillage, le plateau est chaud. Laisser

refroidir le grille-pain avant de vider le ramasse-miettes.

REMARQUE : Si le grille-pain reçoit

des éclaboussures de graisses ou d’huile,

essuyer les éclaboussures immédiatement

avec un linge en coton propre et humide.

2Appuyer sur la manette pour abaisser

le toast de nouveau dans le grille-pain.

1Relever la manette à tout moment au

cours du programme de grillage pour

voir les progrès du pain grillé.

CONSEIL : Pour des articles plus petits,

lever la manette pour soulever le toast au-

delà du niveau du grille-pain.

Grâce à la caractéristique Lever et voir, l’on peut vérier le progrès du grillage sans arrêter le

programme de grillage.

ENTRETIEN ET NETTOYAGE

2Essuyer le grille-pain avec un linge

doux en coton humide. Ne pas utiliser

d’essuie-tout, de nettoyants abrasifs ou

de produits de nettoyage liquides. Ne

pas immerger le grille-pain dans l’eau.

1Débrancher le grille-pain et le laisser

refroidir avant le nettoyage.

DÉPANNAGE

REMARQUE : KitchenAid ne recommande

pas l’emploi d’une protection de grille-pain.

Si votre grille-pain ne fonctionne pas,

vériez ce qui suit :

1. Vérier que le grille-pain est branché sur

une prise de courant à 3 alvéoles reliée à

la terre. Si c’est le cas, le débrancher.

3Appuyer sur “PUSH” (situé au centre

du ramasse-miettes) afin qu’il s’ouvre

un peu, puis le faire glisser hors du

grille-pain. Faire tomber les miettes

dans un contenant à déchets. Pour des

résultats de brunissage uniforme, vider le

ramasse-miettes après chaque utilisation.

Le ramasse-miettes doit être lavé à la

main seulement.

4Replacer le ramasse-miettes dans

le grille-pain. Appuyer sur le centre

du ramasse-miettes jusqu’à ce qu’il

s’enclenche. Ne pas utiliser le grille-

pain si le ramasse-miettes n’est pas

correctement installé.
