IMPORTANT:

During the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice a slight

odor. This is normal and will quickly disappear.

This heater is intended for use on a flat, stable surface, such as a

floor, tabletop, shelf, or desk in a location where the airflow grille

openings won’t be obstructed. Keep all combustible materials such

as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes and curtains at least 3

feet (.9 m) away from the heater. Do not use in wet or moist locations,

like bathrooms or laundry areas, or in areas where paint or other

flammable or volatile liquids are used or stored.

CAUTION: Be sure no other appliances are plugged into the same

circuit with this heater/fan. A circuit overload could occur.

1. Be sure the Dial is in the OFF position before plugging the unit in

(A). Plug into an AC outlet. Turn the Room Select Dial to the

appropriate setting using High for large rooms and Low for smaller

area. The POWER indicator will light up.

2. Turn the Thermostat Control toward the highest level (HOT) to start

in order to activate the heater/fan. Once the desired room

temperature is achieved, lower the Thermostat Control back down

until the fan cycles off. The heat will now cycle On/Off to maintain

a comfortable level.

3. To use as a fan without heat, turn the Dial to FAN and the

Thermostat Control toward the highest level (HOT) until the fan

begins to operate. No heating will occur in this mode.

SPECIAL FEATURES

1. This unit is equipped with a Safety Auto-Off Thermal Fuse, plus a

and CAUTION light. If the unit experiences excessive heat, the

Safety Auto-Off will shut the unit off, and the CAUTION light will go

on. If this happens, turn the Dial to Off immediately. Be sure the grille

is not blocked and nothing is restricting airflow. If the CAUTION light

stays on, unplug the unit, let it cool down, and wait 10 minutes

before plugging it back in to operate. Readjust your temperature or

room settings. If the unit fails to operate after 10 minutes, it may

mean the heater has internal damage and that the Thermal Fuse has

been tripped so the heater can no longer operate.

2. The POWER Indicator Light shows that the heater is switched on

and operating. It continues to glow even if the thermostat has

cycled and the heating elements are off. Note that even though this

unit has a Cool-Touch Housing, the front grille will get hot. Be

careful not to touch it.

This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require additional

lubrication for the life of the unit. It contains no user serviceable parts.

Refer service to qualified service personnel.

1. Always turn the unit OFF, unplug, disconnect the cord from the

outlet, and allow the heater to cool completely before cleaning. To

clean the exterior, use a soft dry cloth or one moistened with a mild

detergent to wipe the outside surfaces. Do not use abrasives or

harsh cleansers. Dry surfaces thoroughly before using the heater.

Or, you can use a vacuum with a dusting brush attachment to clean

away dust.

2. Press the Tab on the Dust Filter at the back of the unit and pull the

Dust Filter straight up to remove it (B). Wash it in soapy water, rinse,

and let it air dry completely before putting it back into the heater.

Snap the filter securely back in place.

CAUTION: DO NOT immerse the heater in water or allow water to drip

into the interior of the heater, as this could create an electric shock

hazard.

3. Store the heater in a dry area. Gather the power cord in loops and

secure it with a twist tie. Don’t let the power cord come in contact

with sharp edges or get compressed by heavy objects. Portable

electric heaters are designed for space heating as a supplementary

heat source. They are not intended be the main source of heat.

POLARIZED PLUG

This appliance has a polarized plug—one blade is wider than the

other. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into a

polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the

outlet, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact an electrician. Do

not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug in

any way.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS

1. Never pull or yank on cord or the appliance.

2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.

3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.

4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion

marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should

be serviced and the line cord replaced.

5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could

place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and

cause it to fray and break.

DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY

DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS

WORKING ENTIRELY.

SPECIAL ATTENTION:

The use of an extension cord is not recommended. However, if it is

absolutely necessary, be sure that the cord is (1) No. 14 AWG

minimum size and rated no less than 1875 watts; (2) UL Listed;

(3) as short as possible (long cords can overheat, as well as trip

circuit breakers); (4) not used for operating more than one appliance

at a time.

ATTENTION SPÉCIALE :

cependant absolument nécessaire, bien utiliser un cordon (1) No. 14

AWG minimum et avec un nominal d’au moins 1875 watts ; (2) qui est

agréé UL ; (3) qui est aussi court que possible (les fils longs peuvent

surchauffer et faire sauter les plombs) ; (4) qui n’est pas utilisé pour

IMPORTANT :

On peut remarquer une légère odeur pendant quelques minutes

quand on utilise l’appareil pour la première fois. C’est un phénomène

normal qui disparaîtra rapidement.

Ce radiateur est conçu pour être utilisé seulement sur une surface

stable et plane telle que le plancher, un dessus de table, une étagère

ou un bureau où le flot d’air dans les ouvertures d’entrée et de sortie

ne sera pas obstrué. Garder tous les matériaux combustibles tels que

1. S’assurer que le Sélecteur est sur ARRÊT avant de brancher

l’appareil dans (A). Brancher dans une prise CA. Mettre la

Sélection de Pièce sur le réglage voulu en utilisant Haut pour

grandes pièces et Bas pour des pièces plus petites. Le témoin de

fonctionnement s’allumera.

2. Tourner la commande du Thermostat vers le plus haut niveau

(CHAUD) au début pour mettre en route le radiateur/ventilateur.

Une fois que la température désirée est atteinte, baisser le

thermostat jusqu’à ce que le ventilateur s’arrête. Le radiateur se

mettra en marche et s’arrêtera pour maintenir un niveau

confortable.

3. Pour utiliser un ventilateur sans chaleur, mettre le Sélecteur sur

VENTILATEUR et la commande de Thermostat au plus haut niveau

(CHAUD) jusqu’à ce que le ventilateur se mette en route. L’appareil

ne chauffera pas dans ce mode.

CARACTÉRISTIQUES SPÉCIALES

1. Cet appareil est équipé d’un Arrêt de ainsi quesûreté automatique

d’un et d’un témoin lumineuxfusible thermique

d’AVERTISSEMENT. Si l’appareil chauffe trop, l’Arrêt de sûreté

automatique l’éteindra et le témoin lumineux AVERTISSEMENT

s’allumera. Si cela se produit, mettre immédiatement le Sélecteur

sur Arrêt. Vérifier que la grille n’est pas bloquée et que rien ne

restreint le flot d’air. Si la lumière AVERTISSEMENT demeure

allumée, débrancher l’appareil, le laisser se refroidir et attendre 10

minutes avant de le rebrancher et de l’utiliser à nouveau. Ajuster

la température ou le réglage de la pièce. Si l’appareil ne fonctionne

pas après 10 minutes il est possible que le radiateur soit

endommagé à l’intérieur et que le fusible thermique ait sauté,

empêchant l’appareil de fonctionner.

2. Le Témoin de FONCTIONNEMENT montre que le radiateur est

branché et fonctionne. Il reste allumé même si le thermostat a

éteint les éléments de chauffage. Noter que même si cet appareil

possède un Boîtier Athermane, la grille de devant chauffera.

Attention de ne pas la toucher.

Cet appareil a reçu une lubrification permanente et n’aura pas besoin

d’être lubrifié pendant toute sa vie utile. Il ne contient aucune pièce

réparable par l'utilisateur. Si des réparations sont nécessaires,

consulter une personne qualifiée.

1. Toujours mettre l’appareil sur ARRÊT, débrancher le cordon de la

prise

et le laisser se refroidir complètement avant de le nettoyer. Pour

nettoyer l’extérieur, utiliser un chiffon doux sec ou mouillé avec un

détergent doux pour nettoyer la surface extérieure. Ne pas utiliser

de produits abrasifs ni de produits de nettoyage durs. Bien essuyer

la surface avant d’utiliser le radiateur. On peut aussi utiliser un

aspirateur avec une brosse à épousseter pour enlever la

poussière.

2. Appuyer sur l’onglet du Filtre à Poussière au dos de l’appareil et

tirer le Filtre à Poussière pour l’enlever (B). Laver dans de l’eau

savonneuse, rincer et laisser sécher complètement à l’air avant de

le remettre dans le radiateur. Bien remettre le filtre en place.

AVERTISSEMENT : NE PAS tremper l’appareil dans l’eau et ne pas

laisser couler de l’eau à l’intérieur du radiateur car cela pourrait

créer un danger de secousse électrique.

3. Ranger l’appareil dans un endroit sec. Enrouler le cordon

électrique et l’attacher avec une ligature. Veiller à ce que le cordon

n’entre pas en contact avec des bords aigus et ne soit pas

comprimé par des objets lourds. Les radiateurs électriques

portables sont conçus comme chaufferettes ou comme une source

de chaleur supplémentaire. Ils ne sont pas prévus pour être la

source principale de chaleur.

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be

■This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin

touch hot surface. Unplug and let heater cool down for at least 5

minutes before moving it.

■Do not use the unit in enclosed spaces such as inside cabinets or walls

in order to defrost pipes or prevent pipes from freezing.

■Use the handle to move the unit.

■To reduce the risk of fire, keep combustible materials, such as

furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet

(0.9 m) from the front, sides and rear of the heater.

■Do not plug heater into loose-fitting or worn out electrical outlets.

■Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near

children or invalids, and whenever the heater is left operating. Avoid

leaving an operating heater unattended.

■Always unplug from electrical outlet whenever heater is not in use.

Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance. To disconnect heater,

turn control to OFF, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.

■Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the

appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner.

Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for

examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. Or, call the

appropriate toll-free number listed on the cover of this manual.

■Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place

undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to

fray and break. DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD

another outlet wired into the same circuit.

■Do not place any objects in front of heater.

■Do not place the heater near a bed, because objects such as pillows

or blankets can fall off the bed and be ignited by the heater.

■Do not use this heater as an integral part of any life support or

equipment protection system, where a functional failure or

misapplication of the heater could jeopardize the people or things

being protected.

■Avoid using heater/fan while sleeping.

■Use heater only as described in this manual. Any other use is not

recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric shock

or injury to persons.

■This heater includes a visual Caution light to warn that parts of the

heater are getting excessively hot. If the Caution light begins to glow,

immediately turn the heater off and inspect for any objects on or

adjacent to the heater that may cause high temperatures. Do not

operate the heater with the caution light glowing.

■This appliance is intended for household use only, not for commercial

or industrial use. Use for anything other than intended will void the

warranty.
