Installazione
!Il presente manuale di istruzioni contiene tutte le
informazioni tecniche di istallazione, uso e
mantenimento dell’apparecchio.
!Le informazioni ed i dati tecnici possono subire
cambiamenti ed il produttore, in conformitĂ  ai
progressi della tecnica, mantiene il diritto di apportare
le modifiche che ritiene necessarie senza l’obbligo di
avvisare prima.
!Nelle pagine a seguire verranno descritte tutte le
configurazioni e accessori dell’apparecchio (compresi
quelli opzionali).
!Al fine di prolungare la durata utile dell’apparecchio,
e garantire la maggiore sicurezza di utilizzo,
consigliamo di attenersi scrupolosamente alle
istruzioni che vengono date e non effettuare variazioni
elettriche o meccaniche sull’apparecchio o sulle
condotte di fuga.
!In caso di problemi rivolgersi al servizio di assistenza
tecnica autorizzato ed esigere i ricambi originali.

Collegamento elettrico
Prima di installare la cappa, è indispensabile
assicurarsi che la tensione elettrica della rete
corrisponda bene a quella indicata nella etichetta
caratteristiche dell’apparecchio.
Il collegamento alla rete elettrica deve essere
effettuato da un installatore autorizzato.
La cappa è dotata di un cavo di alimentazione che
deve essere collegato alla rete tramite una presa di
corrente conforme alla norma.
Se si vuole collegare la cappa alla rete elettrica in
modo permanente, si deve, dopo avere eliminato la
spina, installare un interruttore bipolare conforme che
abbia una distanza di apertura di almeno 3 mm tra i
contatti.
Decliniamo ogni responsabilitĂ  in caso di danni
causati dalla inosservanza delle istruzioni
sopraindicate.

Caratteristiche della cappa
Informazioni preliminari per
l’installazione della cappa
Scollegare la cappa agendo sul quadro generale
domestico nelle fasi del collegamento elettrico.
La cappa è dotata di tasselli di fissaggio adatti alla
maggior parte di pareti/soffitti. E’ tuttavia necessario
interpellare un tecnico qualificato per accertarsi
dell’idoneità dei materiali a seconda del tipo di
parete/soffitto. La parete o il soffitto devono essere
sufficientemente robusti da sostenere il peso della
cappa.
Dove previsto rimuovere i pannelli raccogli grasso.
Rimuovere il/i filtro/i grassi.

copertura completa del gruppo aspirante sino ad
inserirlo nella apposita sede sopra la cappa.
Rimontare il filtro/i grassi (e dove previsto i pannelli
raccogli grasso) e controllare il perfetto funzionamento
della cappa.
Per i Modelli HL 998 e HLS 998: eseguire la
ÂŤCalibrazione manuale dei sensori SelezioneÂť e la ÂŤ
del tipo di piano di cotturaÂť (vedi paragrafi relativi).
Installazione della cappa
1. Con una matita, eseguire una linea sulla parete,
sino al soffitto, corrispondente alla linea di
mezzeria, faciliterĂ  le operazioni di installazione.
2. Applicare lo schema di foratura al muro: la linea
verticale di mezzeria stampata sullo schema di
foratura dovrĂ  corrispondere alla linea di mezzeria
disegnata sul muro, inoltre il bordo inferiore dello
schema di foratura corrisponde al bordo inferiore
della cappa.
3. Appoggiare la staffa di supporto sullo schema di
foratura facendolo coincidere con il rettangolo
tratteggiato, segnare i due fori esterni e forare.
Togliere lo schema di foratura, inserire 2 tasselli a
muro e fissare con 2 viti 5x45mm la staffa di
supporto della cappa.
4. Appendere la cappa alla staffa.
5. Regolare la distanza della cappa dalla parete.
6. Regolare l’assetto orizzontale della cappa.
7. Dall’interno del gruppo aspirante , segnare con
una matita il foro per il fissaggio definitivo della
cappa (sono necessari 2 fori).
8. Togliere la cappa dalla staffa.
9. Forare nel punto marcato (Ø8mm - vedi
operazione 7).
10. Inserire 2 tasselli a muro.
11. Applicare la staffa di supporto camini Galla parete
aderente al soffitto, utilizzare la staffa di supporto
come schema di foratura (la piccola asola ricavata
sul supporto deve coincidere con la linea
precedentemente tracciata sul muro - operazione
1) e segnare con la matita 2 fori, eseguire i fori
(Ø8mm), inserire 2 tasselli.
12. Fissare la staffa di supporto camini alla parete con
2 viti 5x45mm.
13. Agganciare la cappa alla staffa inferiore.
14. Fissare definitivamente la cappa alla parete
(OBBLIGATORIO!!).
15. Eseguire la connessione di un tubo per lo scarico
dei fumi all’anello di connessione posto sopra
l’unità motore aspirante (tubo e fascette per il
fissaggio non fornite). L’altra estremità del tubo
dovrĂ  essere collegata ad un dispositivo di
espulsione fumi verso l’esterno in caso di
utilizzo della cappa in versione
aspirante. Nel caso si voglia utilizzare la
cappa in versione filtrante, fissare alla
staffa di supporto camini Gil deflettore Fe
collegare l’altra estremità del tubo all’anello di
connessione posto sul deflettore F.
16. Eseguire la connessione elettrica.
17. Applicare i camini e fissarli sopra con 2 viti (17a)
al supporto camini G(17b).
18. Far scivolare la sezione inferiore del camino a

Collegamento al motore esterno
Per il modello HLS 998
!La cappa non è fornita di motore interno e deve
perciò essere collegata ad un motore esterno
(accessorio non fornito).
!Il collegamento elettrico va eseguito utilizzando gli
appositi contatti.
!Utilizzare solo motore esterno Scholtès a 4 velocità.
Collegamento del tubo di scarico
al motore esterno
Installare il motore esterno in un vano sufficentemente
ampio e rispettando le normative in vigore.
Il motore esterno va collegato alla cappa con un tubo
di scarico di diametro adeguato (min. Ø 150 mm).
Considerare che piÚ è lungo il tubo di scarico, minore
sarà l’efficacia della aspirazione.
Perciò il tubo di scarico non deve essere piÚ lungo di
7 metri.
Tutto il materiale necessario per collegare la cappa al
motore esterno (tubi, cavi elettrici etc.) non sono forniti
con la cappa.
Collegamento elettrico del motore
esterno
•Verificare la posizione del vano B di connessione
elettrica situato sopra la cappa.
•Togliere le viti per aprire il coperchio del vano B.
•Aprire il bloccacavo togliendo le viti L.
•Per collegare la cappa al motore utilizzare un cavo
multipolare di interconnessione armonizzato (HAR)
tipo H05 VV-F (6 x 0,75mm2).
•Collegare i terminali del cavo proveniente dal
motore alla morsettiera posta nel vano sullaB
cappa.
•Richiudere il bloccacavo (questo dovrà servireL
per bloccare sia il cavo proveniente dalla cappa
che il cavo per il collegamento elettrico del motore
esterno).
•Chiudere il coperchio B.
•Eseguire il collegamento elettrico della cappa alla
rete.

Funzionamento della cappa
!Si consiglia vivamente di effettuare fritture sotto la
cappa soltanto sotto sorveglianza costante.
!E’ vietato effettuare cottura flambée degli alimenti
sotto la cappa altrimenti c’è rischio di provocare degli
incendi.
!Per favorire una evacuazione ottimale degli odori, si
consiglia di mettere la cappa sotto tensione, con
potenza minima, prima dell’inizio della cottura. Inoltre,
si consiglia si spegnerla soltanto dieci / quindici minuti
dopo la fine della cottura.
!Il miglior rendimento dell’apparecchio si ottiene in
evacuazione esterna, si consiglia pertanto di utilizzare
la cappa in questa versione per quanto possibile.
Versione aspirante
I vapori vengono
evacuati verso l’esterno
tramite un tubo di
scarico (di 150mm di
diametro) fissato alla
flangia di raccordo B
che si trova sopra la
cappa.
!Non serrare troppo la fascetta che fissa il tubo
all’anello di connessione per evitare di bloccare la
“valvola non ritorno fumi”.
La evacuazione piĂš silenziosa si ottiene utilizzando un
tubo di scarico metallico perfettamente liscio.
Versione filtrante
Suggeriamo di utilizzare
un filtro al carbone
attivo, disponibile presso
il vostro rivenditore.
L’aria aspirata verrà
sgrassata e deodorata
prima di essere
riconvogliata nella
stanza tramite la griglia
superiore.
Il filtro al carbone attivo
è lavabile (leggere
attentamente il paragrafo
“Manutenzione-Pulizia del filtro al carbone attivo”).
Tuttavia, si deve tassativamente sostituirlo ogni tre anni
ed ogni volta che le fibre risultino danneggiate.
Montaggio e sostituzione del filtro al
carbone attivo
• Disinserire
l’apparecchio dalla rete
elettrica.
• Togliere prima i
pannelli di aspirazione
perimetrali ( delf1
disegno precente).
• Togliere i filtri grassi
metallici.
Smontarli utilizzando le
maniglie corrispondenti,
spingendoli prima indietro poi tirandoli verso il
basso. ( del disegno precente)).f2-f3
•Ritirare il telaio “ ” di sostegno filtro “ ” girando dih i
90° i pomelli “g”.
•Inserire il filtro al carbone attivo all’interno del telaio
e rimontare il tutto nell’apposito sostegno “j”.
•Rimontare il filtro grassi e i pannelli di aspirazione
perimetrale.

Uso della cappa
Uso della cappa - HL 997
ON OFF(Stand by)/ : la condizione ON (Stand by)
si ottiene premendo il tasto per 3 secondi; vengono
abilitati tutti i tasti/comandi. La condizione Off si ottiene
premendo nuovamente il tasto per 3 secondi.
ON/OFF luci
Regolazione potenza di aspirazione
Premere per aumentare o per diminuire la
potenza di aspirazione. Il tasto si accende per
indicare che la cappa sta funzionando, si spegne
quando la cappa ritorna in Stand by (motore spento).
NOTA: In caso di inutilizzo della cappa si consiglia di
spegnerla premendo 2 volte il tasto (il led che
illumina il tasto si spegnerĂ ).
Potenza di aspirazione intensiva (temporizzata)
Premere questo tasto per raggiungere il massimo
della potenza di aspirazione per un tempo di 5 minuti
(il tasto lampeggia per indicare che la potenza di
aspirazione intensiva è in funzione), al termine la
cappa torna alla velocitĂ  precedentemente impostata.
Per uscire anticipatamente dalla funzione ripremere lo
stesso tasto.
Segnalazione saturazione filtro carbone
Questo simbolo di accende quando è necessario
procedere alla manutenzione del filtro carbone.
Il reset della segnalazione si ottiene premendo a
lungo (almeno 3 secondi) lo stesso tasto fino al beep
di conferma.
Questa segnalazione è normalmente disattivata. Per
attivarla procedere come segue: con la cappa in Off
premere , prima si accende il simbolo ; dopo
circa 1 secondo si accende anche il simbolo ad
indicare che la segnalazione saturazione filtro al
carbone è stata attivata. Rilasciare il tasto.
Se si vuole disattivare la segnalazione saturazione
filtro carbone precedentemente impostata, ripetere
l’operazione: prima si accendono entrambi i simboli
e , poi quest’ultimo si spegne ad indicare la
disattivazione della segnalazione.
Segnalazione saturazione filtro grassi
Questo simbolo si accende quando è necessario
procedere alla manutenzione del filtro grassi. Il reset
della segnalazione si ottiene premendo a lungo
(almeno 3 secondi) lo stesso tasto fino al beep di
conferma.
Uso delle cappe HL 998 e HLS 998
ON OFF(Stand by)/ : la condizione ON (Stand by)
si ottiene premendo il tasto per 3 secondi; vengono
abilitati tutti i tasti/comandi. La condizione Off si ottiene
premendo nuovamente il tasto per 3 secondi.
ON/OFF luci
Con luce spenta, premere 1 volta o per
accendere la luce.
Con luce accesa tenere premuto o per
regolare l’intensità della luce.
Con luce accesa premere una volta o per
spegnere la luce.
Regolazione potenza di aspirazione
Premere per aumentare o per diminuire e spegnere
la potenza di aspirazione. Il tasto si accende per
indicare che la cappa sta funzionando, si spegne
quando la cappa ritorna in (motore spento).Stand by
In caso di inutilizzo della cappa si consiglia di
spegnerla premendo 2 volte il tasto (il led che
illumina il tasto si spegne).
Potenza di aspirazione intensiva (temporizzata)
premere questo tasto per raggiungere il massimo

il simbolo ad indicare che la segnalazione
saturazione filtro al carbone è stata attivata. Rilasciare
il tasto.
Se si vuole disattivare la segnalazione saturazione
filtro carbone precedentemente impostata, ripetere
l’operazione: prima si accendono entrambi i simboli
e , poi quest’ultimo si spegne ad indicare la
disattivazione della segnalazione.

Segnalazione saturazione filtro grassi
Questo simbolo si accende quando è necessario
procedere alla manutenzione del filtro grassi. Il reset
della segnalazione si ottiene premendo a lungo
(almeno 3 secondi) lo stesso tasto fino al beep di
conferma.
Tasto Funzionamento automatico
Premere questo (vedi paragrafo relativo) per attivare i
sensori di cui la cappa è fornita.
Per i Modelli HL 998 e HLS 998
Questi modelli sono forniti di sensori che, se rilevano
variazioni ambientali (temperatura e calore), sono in
grado di porre la cappa in funzione impostando
automaticamente la potenza di aspirazione piĂš idonea.
Per un corretto funzionamento dei sensori, questi
vanno tarati in base al piano di cottura (a gas,
induzione o elettrico), per maggiori dettagli sulla
impostazione e taratura dei sensori, leggere qui di
seguito.
Funzionamento automatico
La cappa si imposta sempre in “funzionamento
manuale”, premere il tasto per attivare il
“funzionamento automatico” (il tasto si accende).
La cappa si avvia e regola la potenza di aspirazione
solo se i sensori di cui è dotata rilevano variazioni
delle condizioni ambientali (temperatura e calore).
Se le condizioni ambientali sono tali da non porre la
cappa in funzionamento per almeno 20 minuti la
cappa passa da “funzionamento automatico” a
“Stand by” (il tasto si spegne).
Per ritornare in “ ” premerefunzionamento manuale
qualsiasi tasto, ad eccezione dei tasti che controllano
le luci.
!I sensori si ognicalibrano automaticamente
mezz‘ora, ed in base ai dati rilevati determinano
l‘accensione o lo spegnimento automatico della
cappa.
In certi casi (temperatura ambientale che aumenta o
diminuisce per altri motivi) potrebbe essere necessario
eseguire una calibrazione manuale dei sensori.
Calibrazione manuale dei sensori
Questa va eseguita quando:
•si installa per la prima volta la cappa.
•si toglie la corrente per molte ore o giorni (per
esempio durante le vacanze).
Come eseguire la calibrazione manuale dei sensori
Con la cappa in OFF premere contemporaneamente
per 3 secondi circa i tasti di regolazione potenza di
aspirazione e , attendere il segnale acustico
che indica l’avvenuta calibrazione.
Sicurezza
Quando la cappa è in stand-by “funzionamento
manuale” ed i sensori rilevano un eccessivo aumento
della temperatura la cappa si imposta in
“funzionamento automatico” e se le condizioni
ambientali lo richiedono si avvia il motore.
Malfunzionamento del sistema di funzionamento
automatico
La zona dove sono situati i sensori va semopre tenuta
pulita per permettere agli stessi di rilevare la
temperatura e l’umidità in maniare apropriata, a tale
scopo riferirsi sempre alle istruzioni di pulizia riportate
in questo manuale.
Se il tasto il tasto inizia a lampeggiare ciò significa
che il “ ” non funziona,funzionamento automatico
contattare allora l’assistenza tecnica.
Si potrĂ  comunque utilizzare la cappa in
“funzionamento manuale”.
Selezione del tipo di piano di cottura
Con la cappa in OFF, premere contemporaneamente i
tasti e per il controllo delle luci 1 VOLTA, si
accende il tasto ad indicare che i sensori sono
stati calibrati per funzionare sopra piani a gas,
2 VOLTE , si accende il tasto ad indicare che i
sensori sono stati calibrati per funzionare sopra piani a
induzione.
3 VOLTE, si accende il tasto ad indicare che i
sensori sono stati calibrati per funzionare sopra piani
elettrici.

Precauzioni d'impiego
La cappa è predisposta per il funzionamento
aspirante.
Per favorire un suo buon funzionamento, è importante
prevedere una entrata d’aria sufficiente nella cucina .
L’apparecchio non deve essere collegato alle condotte
utilizzate per l’evacuazione dei fumi provenienti da altri
apparecchi alimentati con ogni tipo di energia diversa
da quella elettrica. Se la cappa deve essere installata
in una cucina nella quale si trova uno scaldacqua
oppure un sistema di riscaldamento a gas, si
raccomanda vivamente, per ragioni di sicurezza, di
rinunciare al funzionamento in versione aspirante.
In tale configurazione, è necessario dotare
l’apparecchio di un filtro al carbone attivo disponibile
presso il vostro rivenditore abituale che permette cosĂŹ
l’utilizzazione in riciclaggio. La distanza minima fra la
superficie di supporto dei recipienti sul dispositivo di
cottura e la parte piĂš bassa della cappa da cucina
deve essere non inferiore a 50cm in caso di cucine
elettriche (piani vetroceramici o elettrici tradizionali) e
di 65cm in caso di cucine a gas o miste. Se le
istruzioni di installazione del dispositivo di cottura a
gas specificano una distanza maggiore, bisogna
tenerne conto.
Nel caso di funzionamento simultaneo di una cappa e
di un bruciatore oppure di un focolare dipendente
dell’aria ambiente (come per esempio apparecchi di
riscaldamento a gas, nafta, carbone o legna,
scaldacqua, scaldabagno…), occorre fare attenzione
perché aspirando l’aria, la cappa toglie l’aria di cui il
bruciatore o il focolare ha bisogno per la combustione.
Per un funzionamento sicuro, la depressione non deve
superare 0,04 mbar; in questo modo si eviterĂ  la ri-
aspirazione dei gas di evacuazione.
Cio si può ottenere assicurando l’entrata d’aria nella
stanza con delle aperture non chiudibili; per esempio,
dei box murali a riciclaggio d’aria, delle porte, delle
finestre o altri dispositivi tecnici. Una cottura “flambée”
danneggia i filtri e può provocare degli incendi;
occorre evitarla ad ogni costo.
Per ogni problema inerente l’evacuazione dei fumi,
attenersi alle prescrizioni della autoritĂ  competente.
!Decliniamo ogni responsabilitĂ  in caso di danni od
incendi provocati dall’apparecchio a causa
dell’inosservanza delle disposizioni sopraindicate.

Installation

maintenance of this appliance.

unit to the mains power supply.
The unit is fitted with a connection flex in accordance
with European standards.
Reward: if it is intended to connect the appliance
permanently to the mains the plug supplied
must be removed and safely dispose of.
The appliance must then be fitted to a double pole
switch conforming to current regulations

Technical characteristics
Preliminary information for installation
of the hood
Disconnect the hood during electrical connection, by
turning the home mains switch off.
Expansion wall plugs are provided to secure the hood
to most types of walls/ceilings.
However, a qualified technician must verify suitability
of the materials in accordance with the type of
wall/ceiling. The wall/ceiling must be strong enough to
take the weight of the hood.
Do not tile, grout or silicone this appliance to the wall.
Surface mounting only.
Do not fix chimney flue to furniture or fly over shelves
unless the chimney flue can be easily removed, in
case maintenance is ever required.
Where foreseen remove the grease collecting panels.

grease collecting panels) and check that the hood is
operating correctly.
For Models HL 998 and HLS 998: carry out “Manual
calibration of the sensors” and “Selection of the type of
cooking top”.
Mounting the hood
1. Using a pencil, draw a line on the wall, extending
up to the ceiling, to mark the centre. This will
facilitate installation.
2. Rest the drilling template against the wall: the
vertical centre line printed on the drilling template
must correspond to the centre line drawn on the
wall, and the bottom edge of the drilling template
must correspond to the bottom edge of the hood.
3. Rest the support bracket on the drilling template
so that it coincides with the dotted rectangle, mark
the two outer holes and drill them, remove the
drilling template, insert 2 wall plugs and fix the
hood support bracket into place using two
5x45mm screws.
4. Hang the hood on the bracket.
5. Adjust the distance of the hood from the wall.
6. Adjust the horizontal position of the hood.
7. Using a pencil mark the cooker hood permanent
drill hole inside the suction group (two drill holes
are necessary for fastening).
8. Remove the hood from the bracket.
9. Drill at the point marked (Ø8mm - see operation 7).
10. Insert 2 wall plugs.
11. Rest the chimney support bracket against theG
wall, touching the ceiling. Use the support bracket
as a drilling template (the small slot formed on the
support must coincide with the line drawn on the
wall as above – operation ) and mark 2 holes with1
a pencil, drill the holes (Ø8mm), insert 2 wall
plugs.
12. Fix the chimney support bracket to the wall using
two 5x45mm screws.
13. Hook the hood onto the bottom bracket.
14. Fix the hood into its final position on the wall. This
is absolutely necessary.
15. Connect a pipe (pipe and pipe clamps not
provided, to be purchased separately) for
discharge of fumes to the connection ring located
over the suction motor unit. If the hood is to be
used in ducting version, the other end of the pipe
must be connected to a device expelling the
fumes to the outside. If the hood is to be used in
filter version, then fix the deflector Fto the
chimney support bracket Gand
connect the other extremity of the pipe
to the connection ring placed on the
deflector F.
16. Make the electrical connections.
17. Apply the chimney stacks and fasten them at the
top to the chimney support ) using 2 screwsG(17b
(17a).
18. Slide the bottom section of the chimney down until
it completely covers the suction unit and slots into

Connecting the motor
For the HLS 998 model
!The assembly comes without a motor and therefore
must be connected to a motor (accessory purchased
separately) located outside of the appliance itself. The
electrical connection must be made using the
appropriate terminals.
!Only use 4-speed Scholtès motor.
Connecting the exhaust duct to the
external motor
The external motor unit must be installed in a suitable
location in compliance with current safety regulations.
The motor and the assembly must be connected using
an exhaust duct with the correct diameter (Ø 150 mm).
To insure that the hood operates efficiently, keep in
mind that ventilation becomes less efficient the longer
the exhaust duct which connects the assembly to the
motor.
The exhaust duct must not exceed 7 meters in length.
The materials (the duct and the clamp) must be
provided by the installer.
Electrical connection for external motor
•Check the position of electrical connection
compartment B situated over the hood.
•Remove the screws to open the B compartment
cover.
•Open the cable block by removing the L screws.
•To connect the hood to the motor use an
harmonized omnipolar interconnection cable (HAR)
type H05 VV-F (6 x 0,75mm2).
•Connect the terminals of the cable coming from the
motor to the terminal board situated on the B
compartment on the hood.
•Close cable block L again (this should act to block
both the cable coming from the hood and the
electric connecting cable of the external motor).
•Close cover B.
•Carry out the electrical connection of the hood to
the power.

Operation
!It is strongly recommended that someone be
constantly present when frying foods under the hood.
!Food must not be flambĂŠed under the hood
because of fire risk.
!For optimal evacuation of cooking smells, it is
recommended that the hood be turned on before
cooking begins. Leave the hood on for 10 to 15
minutes after you have finished cooking.
!The best performance of the unit is obtained in the
external exhausting version, therefore use external
exhausting whenever possible.
External exhausting version
With this version, the
grease vapours and
cooking fumes are
vented to the outside
through a special tube
(Ø 150 mm) connected
to coupling ring B.
!Avoid blocking the non-return valve. When you
fasten the pipe to the coupling ring, do not tighten the
collar too much.
In order to ensure that ventilation unit operates
noiselessly, we recommend that a perfectly smooth
metal pipe be used.
Operation with recirculated air
One active charcoal
filter is needed for this
and can be obtained
from your usual
retailer.
The filter removes the
grease and smells from
the extracted air before
sending it back into the
room through the upper
outlet grid.
The active charcoal filter
is washable (for further
information read the
paragraph “Cleaning - Cleaning the charcoal filter”).
It is essential that the filter be replaced once every
three years, or whenever the fibres become damaged.
Mounting and replacing the active
charcoal filter
• Disconnect the hood
from the electricity.
• First remove the
perimeter suction panels
(f1).
• Remove the metal
grease filters.
Remove the metal
grease filters using
the handles designed for
this purpose by pulling
the filter backwards and then downwards (f2-f3).
• Remove the filter holder frame “h” by turning the
knobs “ ” 90° that affix it to the cooker hood. g
• Insert the sponge “i” of activated carbon into the
frame “h” and fit the whole back into its housing “j”.
• Mount the fat filters and the perimeter suction
panels again.

ON OFF(Stand by)/ : press the button for 3
seconds to obtain the ON (Stand by) condition; all the
buttons/commands are enabled.
ON/OFF lights
Adjusting suction power:
Press to increase or to decrease and switch off
the suction power. The button switches on to
indicate that the hood is functioning. It switches off
when the hood returns to Standby (motor off).
NOTE: If the hood is not being used, we advise turning
it off by pressing the button twice (the LED that
illuminates the key will switch off).
Intensive suction power (timed)
Press this button to reach maximum suction power for
a period of 5 minutes (the button flashes to
indicate that intensive suction power is functioning). At
the end the hood returns to the speed set previously.
To exit in advance from the function, press the same
key again.
Carbon filter saturation signal
This button lights up when maintenance of the carbon
filter is necessary.
To reset the signal, press the same button for a long
time (at least 3 seconds) until the confirmation beep is
heard.
This signal is normally off. Proceed as follows to
activate it:
With the hood in the off position, press the button.
First the lights up, after about a second the
button also lights up indicating that the carbon filter
saturation signal has been activated. Release the key.
If you want to deactivate the carbon filter saturation
signal previously set, repeat the operation:
First the two and buttons light up: then the latter
goes out, indicating the deactivation of the signal.
Grease filter saturation signal:
This key lights up when maintenance of the grease
filter is necessary. To reset the signal, press the same
button for at least 3 seconds until the confirmation
beep is heard.

Cleaning
!Before performing any maintenance operation
disconnect the hood from the mains.
To ensure that your hood works efficiently and
constantly it is recommended that it should be
regularly cleaned (every ten days on average).
Cleaning the grease filters
The grease filter captures the greases from the
cooking fumes.
The filter is in layers of stretched aluminium.
The filter has a more or less unlimited life, but it must
be washed at regular intervals that may vary
according to the intensity of use, and in any case at
least once every 30 days, as well as whenever the
saturation indicator lights up.
When washed in a dish
washer, the grease filter
may discolour slightly,
but this does not affect
its filtering capacity.
• First remove the
perimeter suction panels
(f1).
Remove the metal
grease filters using the
handles designed for
this purpose by pulling
the filter backwards and
then downwards (f2-f3).
Let the metal grease filters dry before putting it back
into place.

Cleaning the charcoal filter
The charcoal filter must be cleaned once every two
months, and every time the saturation indicator
lights up.
The carbon filter may be washed in hot water and
suitable detergent or in dishwasher at 65°C once
every two months (for cleaning in dishwasher ensure
to run full wash cycle with filters only and no crockery).
Remove excess water without damaging filter, then
remove the sponge from inside the plastic grill and
place in oven for 10 minutes at 100°C for drying.
Replace sponge every 3 years or when damaged.
To fit or replace see paragraph “Operation with
recirculated air - Mounting and replacing the active
charcoal filter”.
The manufacturers do not accept responsibility for any
damage to the motor or for fires because of failure to
perform maintenance operations as prescribed in
these instructions.
Cleaning of the unit’s exterior
Wipe down regularly especially when cooking with
salted water (vegetables, shellfish, etc.)
To clean the outside of the hood, use cloth dampened
either with denaturated alcohol or an adequate
product found on the market.
Never use products containing abrasives.
Lighting - Replacing a lamp
To replace the faulty lamp proceed as follows:
• Disconnect the hood from the electricity.
• Use a small screwdriver as a lever on the borders of
the lamp in order to remove the lightbulb.
• Slide out the lightbulb to be replaced and replace
with a new 12V 20W 30° Ø35 12V GU4 PHILIPS
STANDARD LINE code 425409.
• Carry out the replacement and mount the new
lightbulb by following instructions in the reverse.
• Therefore, re-connect the cooker hood to the
electricity mains.
Before calling for technical assistance because
the hood fails to light up, make sure
the lamps are well mounted.

Safety measures
The cooker hood is designed to operate for extraction
to the outside. It is important therefore to ensure that
sufficient air enters the kitchen for correct operation.
The hood cannot be connected to flues of other
appliances that run on energy sources other than
electricity. Should the cooker hood be installed in a
kitchen with an instant water-heater or a gas-heating
system, it is strongly recommended for safety reasons
not to use external extraction. In this circumstance a
unit with an active charcoal filter must be used. This
can be obtained from your retailer and it uses
recirculated air.
The minimum distance between the supporting
surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the
lowest part of the range hood must be not less than
50cm from electric cookers (glassceramic or traditional
electric hobs) and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers.
If the instructions for installation for the gas hob
specify a greater distance, this must be adhered to. If
the hood is run at the same time as a burner or
fireplace that depend on ambient air (for example gas,
Diesel, coal or wood heaters, water heaters, etc.) be
careful, because the hood, when it exhausts the air,
removes the ambient air required by the burner or
fireplace for combustion.
For secure operation and to prevent discharged gas
from coming back in, the vacuum must not exceed
0,04 mbr.
This may be done by making sure the air inlet into the
room passes through non-closing openings such as
air recycling wall boxes, doors, windows or with other
technical measures.
The use of an unprotected flame is dangerous for the
filters and could cause fires.
Therefore, never use an open flame under the hood.
The hood must not be connected to fuel exhaust flues
(boilers, heating systems, water heaters, and so on).
Please, keep to the provisions of official directives
regarding the question of fume discharge.
The manufacturers refuse to accept any responsibility
for damage to the hood or its catching on fire because
of failure to observe the above instructions.

Raccordement ĂŠlectrique

CaractĂŠristiques des hottes
Informations prèliminaires pour l’instal-
lation de la hotte
DĂŠbrancher la hotte, en intervenant sur le tableau
ĂŠlectrique gĂŠnĂŠral domestique, pendant les phases de
branchement ĂŠlectrique. La hotte est ĂŠquipĂŠe de
chevilles de fixation convenant Ă  la plupart des
parois/plafonds. Il est cependant nĂŠcessaire de
s’adresser à un technicien qualifié afin de s’assurer
que le matĂŠriel est appropriĂŠ au type de paroi/
plafond. Le paroi/plafond doit ĂŞtre suffisamment solide
pour supporter le poids de la hotte. LĂ  oĂš il est prĂŠvu,
